NEW -> Contingent Buyer Assistance Program

yup - for people who are new to this site, just a reminder of SoCal's hidden agenda - she advocates anything that could potentially hurt Irvine's real estate value. Instead of laying blame on her secretive husband that does not make enough money to support their lifestyle and an Irvine address, she is bitter against Asians who have priced her family out of Irvine

Man. If you're going to hate on me, at least put some creativity into it. I'm honestly more offended by your lazy lack of ingenuity than I am about the put-downs themselves. Recycling and rehashing the same old, tired comments over and over again, year after year, is yawn-inducing. I would appreciate it if, in the future, you could try to do a better job of keeping our interest level up. Since you want new members to be forewarned, maybe they should be forewarned that your posts are generally known as the unwashed toilet bowl of T.I.

Say it so... :-\

"It's not the cemetery that's put in the wrong place. It's their homes that are put in the wrong place," he said, noting that two other cemeteries are located within three miles in Lake Forest. "If someone's building homes specifically for the Chinese market, they didn't do their homework."

Two cemeteries in nearby Lake Forest surrounded by homes, not blight. Near schools. With zero impact on property value.

And an expanding jail full of very nasty spirits
And a FBI live-fire range with possible UXO issues out by the bomb storage bunkers - was that disclosed?
And the wailing spirits of the native peoples crushed by the cruel Spanish Missions

Lots of evil and ghosts here, they'll be in the school, homes, sports fields. And they won't be moved.

according to the organizer, there WILL be communication with veterans.

Why were these veterans turned away at the door?

i dont know so cal.  but according to the organizer, he/the group WILL COMMUNICATE with veteran to find a win-win situation.

socal, please readhttp://www.dailypilot.com/news/tn-dpt-me-0612-irvine-cemetery-20150612,0,7456127.story

hopefully you read through all 57 pages of this thread now.  do you still think we (local residents) are anti-veteran?  :) do you think we  (local residents) have the right to voice our opinion?  :)

Great article that seems to be pretty neutral in tone and gets out both perspectives!

Don't forget he spirits of those who did stoop-labor with short handled hoes in the Irvine Ranch beanfields back before it became MCAS El Toro. The heritage of the OC calls out for honored rest for those who gave part or all of their lives for this beautiful county.

You can't show up here and buy rights. You do not have the right currency.

Quoting from the same article, I think the developers have a hand in this anti-cemetery sentiment:

"It's not the cemetery that's put in the wrong place. It's their homes that are put in the wrong place," he said, noting that two other cemeteries are located within three miles in Lake Forest. "If someone's building homes specifically for the Chinese market, they didn't do their homework.

"No one stops to think that thousands of Americans ? teenagers basically ? left here [El Toro] to fly off to Vietnam. It was the last place they stood alive on American soil. And it's the same base where thousands of Southeast Asian refugees first set foot in America in the wake of the same war."

I wholeheartedly support this second statement above from the same article. I often drive pass the Northwood Gratitude and Honor Memorial at corner of Bryan and Yale. It is so small as if someone had to squeeze that small corner out of a busting city. It is a small triangle and dangerously close to traffic on two sides and has hardly any safe standing room if more than five families visited. Surely Irvine can offer something bigger and better. Is it a shame that these 70- or 80-yr old veterans have to fight another fight here and now to honor the fallen heroes.

Sphhhhhh never happened.

From the Pilot article: Choi said he invited community leaders through the Chinese Cultural Center and members of the local Chinese press to discuss the legislation last year, but "nobody showed up."

Early in the process  the cemetery guys reached out to every Asian cultural organization on Irvine's websites. Result: Crickets. They all 'went dark'.

To say "we didn't know" is pure BS. Your face not very good.

IHO's original point over 50 pages ago on this thread is still valid in my opinion:  PP is far enough from the proposed cemetery that unless someone told you, you wouldn't even know it is there.  Therefore, it should have no effect on PP's property values or anything else.  The cemetery may have an effect on future 5P communities closer to the site but if you have a problem with that, don't buy in those upcoming neighborhoods.  Problem solved.  5P obviously has a problem with the cemetery, but why are PP residents falling on the sword for 5P's sake?

I would say that most Asian cultural group/organization didn't care about this until individuals started complaining about it.  It was the same for SB 5A.

The Asian groups didn't know about this back then is because they were not here (foreign buyers). Busy spending their money at the outlets, shopping, touring Vegas, etc

The cemetery will be closer than the jail right?
The jail is 2 miles away from PP
The cemetery will be about 1 mile away.

Hmm, to be fair, they were busy reviving the US economy at the time.

Cemetery proposed site is 1.2 miles from PP entrance on Ridge Valley.

Jail is probably 3 miles (ish) from Musick to Ridge Valley.
