But shouldn't there be affirmative action for school sports too?  If spots are taken away from Asians in academics, they should be given spots in athletics instead.

I get your point. However, it is not like these 'live' vets are fighting for a resting place for themselves in the middle of a Chinese dominated neighborhood. They want something for their fallen friends. You can't resent these old-timers for that. True, what they are insisting is inconvenient to you, but they are not wrong in doing so. By the same token, if my friend jmoney74 from TI doesn't want to live near cemetery, I will gladly go hold a sign for him in protest even though I don't agree with his choice.

The city/state and developers should share the responsibility for the current situation.

It's a bit off the topic but this is where the Affirmative Action hypocrisy ends. I remember seeing an article last year where Pastor Jesse Jackson walked into the boardroom of HP and demanded them (the high-tech industry) to hire more minorities. WTH. Why didn't he go to NBA and NFL and demand more Asian faces? Does the Bible even condone political involvement? The guy is just a pretentious opportunist.

On another note, I know many Caucasian families who are obsessed with school sports...  they attend camps, do year-round club level, get private coaching, etc... all with the singular focus of getting a college scholarship to a D1 school like Stanford.  Yet no one ever calls these kids mindless robots with no creativity who spend all their time and money to fulfill their parents fantasies.

Funny enough, I saw a bunch of girls over the weekend who just finished a club volleyball tournament.  All blonde, skinny, and tall - like human giraffes.  I couldn't tell any of them apart...  they all looked the same to me.
