irvine123, you can see fire from Woodbury again? Last night and this morning I couldn't see any fire so I thought it was pretty well contained near us in Irvine?

Well on the news they keep hovering over Silverado and Irvine Lake which is almost where it started. From Irvine Lake all it has to do is go 5 minutes down the toll road back to Irvine. Or if it goes a different direction from Irvine Lake, it could go to where West Irvine, Orange, and Tustin Ranch meet.

Perhaps someone can assist. I have family that lives in Trabuco Canyon, I called them about 2 hours ago and they said they can see the fire now from their street but that it was still about 2 to 3 miles away. So far they hadn't gotten any evacuation order.

Eva, in your post from a few hours ago you said Trabuco Canyon was a mandatory evac. Was my uncle just trying to comfort me so I didn't worry ? Add is 21096 Briarwood Lane if that helps to narrow anything down.

And BTW, I flew into LAX last night around 9:30 PM. From both sides of the planes the flames were all over the place, it looked like a volcano had erupted and lava was flowing down. Creepy. The whole plane shut their reading lights off to look and no one said a word. From OC to Arrowhead. just wow.

So far, nothing to worry about, Troop. Per Google Earth, he's in the middle of a tract of homes in Rancho Santa Margarita. He's about a mile or so away from one of the road closures, but the immediate area he is in is very built out.

Agree with irvine123. The smoke smell started coming back into the house (across from Northwood HS) starting around 7 pm tonight. We've had windows and doors shut since pre dawn Sunday and 2 Austin Air filters running 24/7 full blast, and A/C on recirc, so we're not doing anything differently. It's the smoke returning.

So... any other donations? My Amex is looking for some exercise. Remember, if you want to keep your donation quiet, you can whisper to me that you made such a donation. I don't need a copy of the receipt or anything.

I see all these bulldozers sitting around in Irvine and Laguna Crossing. You think Irvine Company woudl let the fire dept borrow them. I see they only have two on the Fire website.

Trooper,

I know where your uncle is. No evacuations there right now.

There were some folks just down the street from him at the rodblock on Plano Trabuco & Robinson Ranch set up with coolers full of food and drinks for any of the emergency personnel who were able to stop and grab a bite yesterday afternoon. We made a subway run and dropped off some sandwiches.

You'll want to listen for any news about the Robinson Ranch area. He's not far at all from Robinson elementary and school is in session today, so I'm sure you'd hear mention of that if evacuations became necessary.

It looks like they are making a serious stand in Trabuco Canyon, over 600 firefighters there and they are setting backfires in an attempt to control things.

Red Cross donation made

Does anyone know the status of Rancho Las Lomas? They have all those large animals there and I can't image it would be easy to find a place to evac a tiger.
