America is getting greater and greater every day, now.

Foxconn CEO says US display plant could top $7 billion

The world's largest contract electronics maker is considering setting up a display-making plant in the United States.

Gou said he told Son that the United States has no panel-making industry but it is the second-largest market for televisions. An investment for a display plant would exceed $7 billion and could create about 30,000-50,000 jobs, Gou told Son.

What will no TTP mean for high tech manufacturing companies in Orange County?
The companies will likely have less desire to relocate to another country.  This benefits employees and local suppliers as they have slightly more stability.

I have a lot of Bernie Sanders fans as friends on Facebook.  Not one of them has said anything positive about Trump getting rid of the TPP, even though it was one of Sanders' top goals.

So are you a Bernie Sanders supporter or not?  ;)

No, but I do agree with him on a few points.  Sometimes it's for different reasons.  Sometimes we are on the same page.  IMO, he is very short sighted and has frequently used poor logic.

I do respect him more than other politicians as I think he is a good person and generally more honest than other politicians.

Trump Puts a Halt to FHA Mortgage Cuts
DAILY REAL ESTATE NEWS | MONDAY, JANUARY 23, 2017
Just hours after being sworn in, President Donald Trump moved to suspend a plan to reduce the Federal Housing Administration?s mortgage insurance premiums that was set to go into effect on Jan. 27. The reduction had been announced on Jan. 9 by the outgoing Obama administration and Housing and Urban Development head Julian Castro.

The reduction in premiums by 25 basis points, or a quarter percentage point, ?has been suspended indefinitely,? according to an FHA news release. ?More analysis and research are deemed necessary to assess future adjustments,? according to FHA.

National Association of REALTORS? officials estimate that, without the cut, about 750,000 to 850,000 home buyers will face higher costs, and 30,000 to 40,000 new home buyers will be left on the sidelines in 2017. It was estimated that FHA borrowers would save an average of $500 per year with the reductions in place.

?We?re disappointed in the decision but will continue to make the case to reinstate the cut in the months ahead,? NAR President William E. Brown said.

My advice to Carlos, divorce this whiny American self absorbed elitist and remarry a down to earth Latina woman like your mom wanted you to.  Trust me, you'll thank me later.

She's a nutcase. Not all American women are like her, though. Just like we are not all vagina-hat-wearing, D.C.-marching, man-hating, baby-killing, purple-haired, militant feminazis. They certainly do not represent me. They're an embarrassment.

Saw an article this weekend about the women's marches where the author stated that Trump got more overweight women out of the house and walking in one day than Michelle Obama did in all 8 years of her fitness initiative.

Reading Facebook, at times it seems like Trump could propose a European style national healthcare funded by a financial services tax on tax filers with over one million in capital gains and there would be nothing but massive complaints about everything wrong with it.

Then i turn on the TV news and I see the spokesperson saying alternate facts...

At which times my eye starts twitching

But they said...  They said they were representing all women.  The message was that all of those issues were issues that all women want.  You don't get to decide.  They have decided it for you.  You don't get that freedom.

To be fair...  he suspended the plan and didn't remove it.

Apparently a lot of these decisions were made in the last couple of weeks.  Makes sense that he put them on hold while figuring which ones to keep and which to toss.

Last week, Russian Sanctions were extended 1 year because of Russia's activity in the Ukraine.  I don't necessarily have a problem with extending the sanctions, but the timing looks like revenge for hacking the DNC.  Why didn't he extend the sanctions 6 months ago?  Maybe he felt Trump wouldn't do it so he had to.  It feels more like he wanted to stick it to Russia while setting a trap for Trump.  If Trump removes that extension, it will make him look like he's pandering to Russia.

So he suspended the plan which Obama waited 8 years to put in place that wouldn't take effect until after he left office? It didn't take effect so there is no increase in payments, right? There is no decrease in payments.

FHA allows buyers to purchase with as little as 3.5% down and this fee that Obama tried to put in effect 8 years after coming into office which wouldn't take effect until he left is to cover costs in case buyers walk away from their mortgage. A dip of 3.5% means these FHA buyers could be under water. In fact putting down only 3.5% would mean they couldn't sell their house if there was no gain at all and not have to pay to get out of their mortgage.

Oh......... that fee. Yeah, ok. I'm getting out my violin for all those who just saw their payments go up. Oh wait............. there weren't any of those. Only people counting on a reduction seeing their payments stay the same. Guess I have to put the violin back in the case for a while.

Wasn't that just a quarter point rate reduction in insurance premium for the loan? If that small change ($100/mo on a $500k loan) keeps up to 40k homebuyers (according to your trusted Realtor association) on the sidelines then maybe they weren't in a position to buy a home in the first place ...

Pennsylvania is the leading contender for the new 30,000 to 50,000 employee Foxconn plant to make Apple products in the US.  So far, all of the jobs Trump has brought back from overseas has gone to states like Michigan and Pennsylvania, traditionally Democratic states that HRC assumed was hers but instead switched sides and went Trump in 2016.  Reward perhaps?  My guess is that the companies heeding Trump's call to bring jobs back won't be providing those jobs in rainbow land California, New York, and Illinois.

Isn't Foxconn picking the location that gives it the most tax breaks and incentives?

Is Trump influencing in any way the state that they pick?
