NEW -> Contingent Buyer Assistance Program

China does not want to be US ally.  That's not how the CCP thinks.  They want to take over.  China still consider itself as the "Middle Kingdom".

Definitely wouldn't be easy, but already basically are uneasy allies, I think there is a possibility still

Japan is not allowed to have a military by law and SK can't take on China.  US projection of power is not just about military might.  It's about securing stability in a region and have allies that take our side rather than China or Russia side.
For now. Abe is on a mission to reform or repeal article 9. The conservatives in Japan see Trump as an opportunity to repeal article 9 and regain a powerful military presence. See stuff like:http://en.apa-appletown.com/essay/584

Stopping the war game is an unnecessary give away that NK didn't need to get.    People keeps talking about how the relations is better since last year...yeah because Trump basically threatened to invade NK.  It was a crisis of his own making.

NK is now more dependent on China more than ever.  China already "easing" sanctions and playing big brother for NK.

Even if you believe that Trump knows what he is doing...he has a "business person" POV where every party wants to get a deal down.  In politics, doing a deal is not always the end game.

I'm still not convinced the war game thing is that big of a concession, but agree on the other points.

@ Starman, you have military background. What do you think about the POTUS reciprocal salute to adversary general?

Don't add any 'sic', comment to my question.

He?s not suppose to. Because now they are going to use it for propaganda purposes.

Starman defend TRUMP on every moves, so with Starman military background, there is a very significant importance when using a salute. Especially, from your Commander in Chief.

So Starman, what do you think?

Biggest issue is that Trump did it without telling the SK about it first.  Shows that SK is not part of the discussion.

I don't think it's a big deal, just a meme.

The annoying thing is Obama would have probably been crucified for this

Makes sense, Trump should have let SK know it was on the table as a bargaining chip.

Makes me think what type of boss you are to your employees. Did you give them a bonus due to Trump?s tax?

The trickle down effect is a wreck.

Exactly, focus on things that might actually matter vs. didn't say 'under god' enough or 'saluted where he shouldn't'.

When you call out the other guy on every little nonsense thing, the real criticisms get lost in the noise.

My previous post gives the explanation.

Right, I'm just saying that it is a valid thing to debate about vs. some of the other nonsense people call out. I'm not sure if it was a good or bad move by Obama, I don't know enough about the situation to have an opinion.

Here are the little things to me:
1. Trump told the reporters to get a good photo of him and make him look younger during lunch
2. Trump showing Kim the Limo

Not a big deal.

When the whole world is watching step up your game.

I?m on the fence regarding the video. In my opinion I wouldn?t show it to the press. Because it?s not the best. I think it could have been done better.

Previously you mentioned that the tollroad would help your employees. (That was the base of my assumption.)

It's quite common for enemy commanders to salute each other upon the ceasing of hostilities.  Trump is working to build trust with the North Koreans so to snub the general would have been counterproductive for achieving world peace.  This story about NK using it as propaganda is really the only attack line CNN can find, because it's poor form to wish for the break down of peace talks.

South Korea wasn't part of the discussion.

Trump receives 92% negative coverage from the US news media, so he is crucified on a daily basis for anything and everything he does.  Remember when he was criticized for how he eats his pizza?  Look back on the Obama years and ask yourself if he really faced anything close to the scrutiny that Trump faces on a daily basis.
