I'm still not convinced the war game thing is that big of a concession, but agree on the other points.

Biggest issue is that Trump did it without telling the SK about it first.  Shows that SK is not part of the discussion.

South Korea wasn't part of the discussion.

As a 60+ year ally of the US, they should have been and thus the original comment that SK got sold out.

Trump receives 92% negative coverage from the US news media, so he is crucified on a daily basis for anything and everything he does.  Remember when he was criticized for how he eats his pizza?  Look back on the Obama years and ask yourself if he really faced anything close to the scrutiny that Trump faces on a daily basis.

Totally agree on the Trump thing, it's ridiculous! Looking back I see a clear similarity with how  some people on the right treated Obama and some people on the left treat Trump. It's like CNN and Fox just trade who is on defense and offense.

Obama had his fair share of ridiculous attacks, remember how he was an 'elitist' for using Dijon mustard on his burger and the "terrorist fist jab"? Not to mention constantly being called a muslim or a kenyan.

It's almost like real issues are too boring and will never bring in good ratings.

Not to mention Russian Psy-ops campaigns that amplify these divisions. Next time you read an Antifa, helicoptergender, or a neo-nazi post, and start to get angry, realize it likely is actually the (ex?)KGB trying to stir you up. https://www.armyupress.army.mil/Jou...lusive-Articles/Russian-Actions-and-Methods/.Even the 'Russia Investigation' is a great outcome for them, just stirs up more division!

I remember talk for weeks about Obama's doctor's recommendation buried in his medical report to "moderate drinking". People were asking "how much alcohol must Obama drink to be told to moderate drinking??"

I noticed that BTB sometimes posts late at night. What's the time difference between Moscow and Irvine?

DOJ Report Confirms That the President Is a Dishonest Conspiracy Theorist

Also, Trump wants to invite Russia back to the G-7 group.

Trump s coverage is actually not as negative as it should be Given the actual reality . For example ? people in media keep fact checking trump and his team with extremely soft language and calling them ?not accurate? instead of just saying they outright ? lie ?

One shouldn't underrate how much the media's obsession with Clinton's emails stemmed from its obsession with fending off accusations of liberal bias. Trump had...  LOTS of issues.... so there was tremendous weight put on this one Clinton issue to preserve "balance".  And now we know about comey using personal emails himself !  Trump obviously hasn?t broken 20x any security protocols and nary a peep from his base (cult).

It's incredible how much Republicans trust whatever comes out of Trump's mouth no matter how absurd. There's been an 11 point jump in voters saying Russia actually wanted Clinton to win b/c Trump says so over the last year according to a ppp poll .https://www.publicpolicypolling.com...-not-helping-gop-dems-lead-house-ballot-by-6/

Ultimately there is not much to gain trying to reason with Trump supporters. I know the idea is not to alienate them (so called ?real Americans?) and to understand them and all that horse crap, but should be pretty obvious now there?s no reasoning with rage-addicted cultists who?ll rationalize anything.

comey using a personal email means he couldn't recommend charges without implicating himself.

Obama had direct contact with Clinton on private email server: IG report

President Obama was one of a select handful of individuals who had "direct contact" with Hillary Clinton on her private email account, Justice Department Inspector General Michael Horowitz indicated in his bombshell report Thursday on the Clinton email probe.

In a footnote, the DOJ watchdog notes that "FBI analysts and Prosecutor 2 told us that former President Barack Obama was one of the 13 individuals with whom Clinton had direct contact using her clintonemail.com account."

The IG report adds that Obama used a pseudonym for his username and that, after intelligence analysts questioned whether Obama's communications contained classified information, it was determined the emails sent and received were not classified.

What's with the obsession with Hilary's emails? If you think the "secure federal servers" are more secure, I have a bridge to sell you... US Gov, especially mil, was garbage tier cyber defense around Hilary's tenure. They would just prosecute the hell out of you if you targeted them, much more lucrative to target private industry. Of course, US Gov prosecution isn't much a deterrent for Russia, Iran, China, etc...

I think it demonstrates carelessness and incompetence on Hilary's part, but it is blown up so big to the point of being cartoonish.

Shouldn't they just have an I.T. guy handling all this crap anyway?

then why even have government emails in the first place?  it's less about secure servers than it is about conducting shady "government business" on personal accounts to hide from the public eye.  if you don't think hillary was using her private email server to orchestrate her pay to play, get rich quick foundation scheme i have another bridge to sell you.

I'm not saying she shouldn't have used government emails for all government related communication, just that the issue gets blown up to the point of being a meme. I just pointed out the 'secure server' thing because it was in the article.

The corruption issue, if allegations are true, is a much bigger deal, and only tangentially related to the emails. Seems weird to focus on the email portion of that specifically.  I would expect foundation communication to be on personal emails anyway, since in theory that should be independent of government activity.

Agreed.  I mean Trump refused to get an encrypted cell phone and no Trump supporter seems to care about that.

Clearly...Trump is the epiptomy of competency and carefulness.

Exactly ? goes to my point of futility of arguing sense and logic with those part of the cult of Trump

I mean we all can acknowledge the flaws in Hillary Clinton and her tone deafness etc.  but the sheer amount of hatred and panic (including many family values trump supporters calling her the c word and accusing her of pedophilia) is unparalleled in my opinion in  the history of modern politics in a developed / advanced / civilized country such as ours .  What used to be the fringe is now mainstream opinion on the right.

Democratic Party is unsuitable in its current form to take on this new challenge where 30 percent of the country gangs up under the Cover of Fox News etc and imposes it?s will on the remaining , diverse majority , again given the structural weaknesses in our system (voter suppression , redistricting, electoral college , CA w same number of senate seats as idaho, etc )

Geez...who could have guess this would happen?

Just one week after meeting Trump in Singapore, Kim trekked to China to meet with Xi for the third time this year.

Experts think they know why Kim made the trip. ?The most immediate reason Kim is visiting China is to share his impressions of the summit with President Xi,? Abigail Grace, who formerly worked on North Korea issues in Trump?s National Security Council, tells me. So most immediately, Kim will give Xi a personal briefing about his meeting with the US president.

?At a time when friction is rising in the US-China relationship,? says Grace, who is now at the Center for a New American Security think tank, ?Kim knows it will be easier for him to convince Xi that his proposed, phased approach is preferable to the US-drafted road map. This will reduce US negotiating leverage when they push Kim to take meaningful steps toward real denuclearization.?

The US has said it wants North Korea to give up its nuclear program very quickly, while North Korea wants to go at a slower, more deliberate pace.

Either way, Kim likely wants to get China?s approval before he takes any real steps to dismantle his nuclear program. China is North Korea?s most important trading partner and ally. The Kim regime has stayed in power in part because of Beijing?s help. So if China doesn?t consent on just how Kim might curb his nuclear program, it?ll be much harder for Kim to do that.
