Lakers Waive David Nwaba.

The Rumor is the Lakers trying to sign Rondo? (I don't that will be good)

I'm good with rondo.  Nwaba is okay.

Who is Kentavious Caldwell-Pope?

(Lakers signed him to a 1 year $18 mil contract)

I see him as an average starter. Can play decent defense.

So what happens to Clarkson?

I think Clarkson is a great fit for a 6th man and will get plenty of playing time.

Big wild card in this signing is the Rich Paul influence
He's Lebron's agent.  Why agree to a 1 year deal instead of long term?  Reportedly, Pistons were offering 4/80 and he declined.  1 year 18 million sounds like a big loss.  Could've gotten an offer from the nets etc (Wizards matched Porter's contract so they still have to get to salary floor)

Is there a bigger deal in the works?  Clear enough cap for 2 max + 1 player like KCP next year?  Assumption would be some combo of LeBron/westbrook/paul George + KCP...or are we getting rid of Clarkson/deng/renouncing randle for the chance at 3 max + KCP (keep only ingram/ball/rookies)  :-X

Are you aware of the Rondo and Wade situation with the Bulls?

The version of Rondo that scares me is the Mavs version where he visibly gave up.  He seemed fine on the Bulls and players in general speak well of Rondo.  I mean in that first round against the Cavs, the Bulls put up a great fight with Rondo.  I'm fine with signing him.  He'll be a good mentor to Lonzo Ball I think.  I mean most of us would be ecstatic if he turned into prime rondo that could shoot.

Rondo was never able to shoot, even when he was in his prime with Boston.  Also, he didn't play the Cavs in the 1st round, but he did almost single-handedly beat the Celtics in Round 1 this year...until he got hurt.

Not sure if Rondo is an elite defender anymore, but if he is, than he would be a valuable influence in the locker room, especially for Lonzo.

I wonder how a Rondo/Lonzo backcourt would fare, with Rondo at the 1 and Lonzo at the 2.

No to Rondo.

I think they could also use Clarkson as a backup PG to Ball.

Too soft. Need to raise this to "Hell no, to Rondo." It's completely unnecessary and redundant. He's always been a bad locker room guy.

has he?  seems like he did good in boston.  Also, bulls players liked him.  However, yes there were the Mavs.

Clarkson regressed so much after that stellar year with Steve Nash mentoring him
His PG instincts all went away and became chuck fiesta.

I'm okay to see Clarkson go unless he finds his way again

I'd like to see Rondo as the backup PG and let lonzo start.  More of a mentor role for Rondo instead of starting PG for us.  We're going to suck regardless, let's make sure we develop Ball this year

BAM!  Nice Summer league game by Ball.. really carried the team on his back for the win.  Those dimes were on the money today.  Hopefully he can starting hitting his three more consistently.  He really does need that midrange game though.

The last two games show the promise Laker fans are hoping for in this Lonzo Ball phenom. You could pencil him into the All Star Game as a rookie, were he playing in the East...

You're kidding, right?  I'm guessing you are, b/c if you were not, you're assuming he would immediately leap frog players like Damian Lillard, who killed it in summer league too.

We going to the playoffs!
I'm aboard the playoff train  ;D gotta speak it into existence

Man what a game, Lonzo willed the team to this victory.  Making scrubs look good.  I imagine he'll look better with our regular season team.  He'll need work like @jmoney74 said on his midrange... right now it's either a layup or a drive.  A midrange J or a nice teardrop would be all he needs to take his game to the next level, shot wayyyy too many 3's.

All in front of Lebron... it's happening folks! I always thought that if Kyrie had better PG instincts like Lonzo, they would've been able to maybe beat the warriors.

SPEAK IT!!!

I know it's summer league.. but it's impressive when you will your team to victory and take control.  Man those passes.. it changes how the whole team plays.  Now people can see why he made UCLA that much better.

I think I'm in the minority.. I don't want Lebron.  He wants to expand his brand.  F him!

There's this ongoing theory out there that I read on another forum (could be completely false) that Lebron really wants to be a billionaire or richest athlete ever and that's the reason he's looking at LA.  Apparently the guy is a high up at WB and said the new space jam has been green lit for a while.  But his schedule can never fill in for the filming (would need to be in LA for 4 months or so) and Lebron would need to be here for that to happen.  Assuming the movie makes a billion dollars (big if) Lebron could be walking away with hundreds of millions from the movie (something he wouldn't get if he kept playing in Cleveland)  He doesn't have a huge window for this either, if he gets too old or stops dominating, then the movie might not make sense for him say 3 years down the line.  So yeah that goes in line with expanding his brand.  Getting a Lebron next year guarantees a Paul George I think so I'm down.

But on topic of like you said, I can totally tell that Lonzo's biggest impact is that he makes players around him better.  Like you said, he made UCLA a top team when they sucked the year before.  That's why I prefer his skillset for this young laker team over Fultz still.  Fultz has every move in the book, he's so advanced offensively.  He'll get his stats but I don't think he'll make his teammates better.  Looking forward to this coming year, this draft class is deep!

Rondo talking to Pelicans.. so that is a relief to some on the board.  We signed that dude on our Summer league team to a two year deal.  I think this is the team we are rolling with.  Man, I'm excited to watch these Lakers.  Nance Jr might go well with some Ball.  I still don't see Randle as a fit but who knows.  I'm sure we will move him since I doubt we will give him a max deal after next year.
