Annnnnnnnnnd, not too impressed?  Maybe you didn't get a fresh batch.

Yeah, I thought they were tasty and they were very fresh. They're good for what they are. Not a very strong pretzel flavor but that's true of nearly all fast-food type of pretzels. I prefer them a little darker and deeper, which is how I make them. But this was probably the best "convenience pretzel" I've tried. I would get it again if I was at a Wetzel's. I liked it.

For IHO:

Voodoo Doughnut: The Portland specialty doughnut shop is opening its first California location at Universal CityWalk, theme park officials said Wednesday. The shop is opening in the fall, adjacent to Universal Cinemas. Besides Oregon, the gourmet doughnut company operates shops in Austin, Texas; Denver and Taiwan.

Ronnie - the "ugly brown" fence is down over at BP. What was our bet again?

Hey I was willing to bet but your response was:

-------------------
Been thinking. Nothing I want from you
:) :) :) :)
-------------------

Also, only portions of the fence have gone from under the bridge, I think there's still a lot of fence left on both sides of Ridge Valley, right?  None the less, I have been seeing this thing evaporate over the last few weeks and was wondering when you would post this.

I haven't been over there in awhile but I think all the "ugly brown" fencing is gone on the BP residential side. The brown fence is still there on the BP commercial side but I'm sure that'll come down once when they start working/building on that piece of the land.

I can happily report to TI this place is ready for primetime (unlike EMC Seafood). They were moderately busy for a weekday morning. They have both indoor and outdoor seating. You line up to order and they give you a number to place on your table. Waitresses were friendly and came by frequently for coffee refills. I tried the pancakes (tasty, not too light, and some chewiness which I enjoy), Portuguese sausage (nice and spicy like you would get in Hawaii), and fried rice (goes well with the spicy sausage). I would definitely come back and can foresee long lines on the weekends. The nice thing is you can do takeout and still find additional seating by Starbucks or Burnzilla in the morning.

I made this a couple nights ago. It's a good excuse to break out your large Lodge cast iron pan. It was a universal like. But I advise NOT putting a cup of sauce on the pork shoulder prior to roasting. You will end up with one severely burnt pan. I also recommend roasting the pork and making the fries on separate sheets.

Went there for a weekday lunch a few months back.  The d?cor is pretty stark, just tables and chairs with blank walls.  The two of us ordered two wings and fries lunch combos (wanted the drumstick and wings combo, but they ran out...who runs out of drumsticks at noon?!).  You can pick different sauces for the wings, they were crispy and tasty.  We also got a garlic noodle, I would recommend this.  It was very simple, essentially ramen noodles with a TON of garlic, but very flavorful.  I would probably go back again during lunch time for the lunch combos.

Okay, so, what exactly is boba, again? I'm taking my kids somewhere tomorrow for a summer treat where they sell this concoction. Maybe I'll try it. Is it sweetened or unsweetened tea?

Boba is from tapioca pearls...
The popular variation is usually boba milk tea, where it's milk and black tea combined with the boba pearls.  It usually comes sweetened but you can ask any place to go half sugar or no sugar..I usually get half

There's so many combos you can have with boba...like slushes/green tea/black tea/smoothies...also try lychee jelly if they sell it..it's awesome

It's super popular with the young crowd

I think we've described boba to SoCal 44 times now. I thought she had already tried it (but I think it was the popping boba theyhavel at froyo places).

It's not live squid so you'll be fine.

:'(  I'm a slow learner, okay?

I did finally try the mini boba balls, that is correct. I haven't tried "boba" yet. I thought "boba" was a general, abbreviated term for the cold drink with big balls. I'm starting to think that's not the case, though. Yes, I've been told what the big balls are all about. I just wasn't sure what's in the drink besides milk and tea. I don't generally like tea if it's strong because it leaves me parched. I don't like that "cotton mouth" feeling. I"m hoping it's not like that. I don't want to waste my money if it's mainly tea.
