I had some cucumber ice cream over the weekend. Oh, yuck. The other people around me were all, "MmmMmm. The best ice cream I've ever had. So delicious." I took two small tastes and had to throw the rest away before I threw up. The strangers seemed offended by that, which was weird. It came from a Persian grocer, in case you want to try it yourself.

Snooze at the Tustin marketplace opens up tomorrow at 6:30am!

It was open on the weekend and it was free.

Saturday morning, I went by Stacks and the line was stupid long so I decided to check out Snooze.  They seated my family right away.  When we got the check, they told us they weren't opening until Monday and that the weekend was their "soft opening".  They told us the meal was free and they would not accept gratuity.  They did ask for a donation to the Tustin Community Foundation (or something like that), though.  We donated about what our check would be.  The donation was completely confidential and there's no pressure to give them anything.

I went outside my comfort zone and had the following:
Chilaquiles Benedict - Very good
Chile Verde Benny - Very good.  The pork was excellent.
OMG! French Toast - Amazing.  It's about as sweet as it can get without going overboard.  Very Good.

What do they serve?  breakfast?

they serve breakfast. went this weekend and had the spuds deluxe (i think is whats called) - its hash browns, cheese, eggs and two meets, doubled up on chorizo. it was pretty good but next time i will get it smothered in salsa verde or ranchero sauce to give it a little more flavor.

People on Nextdoor were saying Snooze breakfast was 100 minute wait this weekend.  Think I'll wait a few months.

That's what takeout is for. While waiting for my food I heard the hostess tell a customer it was a 110 minute wait. Fuck that. I did find it interesting how they quote the wait in minutes vs saying one hour and 50 minutes

The breakfast line at Stacks is looking relatively short now

...I prefer the sesame & green onion pancake bread at Ma's Chinese Islamic Restaurant in Anaheim.  Great with stir fried lamb.

I'm going to give thumb up for the Ma's also.

Generous portion and vary reasonable priced.  And that sesame green onion bread is indeed very good.

Have any of you guys been to RJ's caf? in dana point?

Just went, breakfast is really good there.  Cinnamon role, eggs benedict, country fried steak, better than stacks in my opinion.  Plus walking distance to the harbor.

FYI for pokemon go players, go up the hill *on the street that leads to the harbor* and there's a dratini spotting every hour or so  ;)

Tried hopdoddy this weekend at the marketplace. The burgers are very good. The fries are good as well. And I highly recommend the the green chile queso. You can get an extra cup of queso for just 1.50. I had the Diablo and my wife had the continental. She really lied it. Would definitely recommend hopdoddy.

We also tried bosscat kitchen by John Wayne, also highly recommend this place. The only thing is the fries are cooked kind of wierd. They bake the potato then cut into wedges and fry them. So they are very fried/overcooked. But they have some tasty appetizers. Parmesan crusted meatloaf squares (deep fried) and some corn bread in the shape of Madeline cookies. Both tasty. And let's not forget the chirps for dessert.
