Junk fooding

NEW -> Contingent Buyer Assistance Program
El Pollo Loco's best was the twice grilled burrito.  Also great was was when they had their steak items.  Those were all pretty awesome, but what is a chicken place doing selling steak?  It was a matter of time before they were gone.

Then they pretty much went bankrupt and hired a new firm to make their menus more appealing and cheaper.  Their food went to shit from there.

The El Pollo Loco in Foothill Ranch always has a long line at lunch time both in Drive Thru and inside.  I actually like their chicken salads and tostadas.  Also, their crunchy chicken tacos are pretty good.  I usually go there in streaks when I get their coupons in the mail once a month - good deals for $5 combos and such.

Don't know where to put this. A yakitori (sp?) place is opening soon over by Baker Ranch in that new drive-thru SBUX / Goddard school center. The banner said the name of the place but it was foreign to me so I can't remember what it was.

I often wonder why they don't stay open late like the JIB next door, especially now that business is booming late at night.

Anyone try these yet?

I tried the Mac and Cheetos and they were not good... too dry.

I haven't even tried BK's regular Chicken Fries.

No BKs in Irvine... maybe that's good for me.

Isn't there a BK on Irvine Center Dr. across from the new whole foods?

I only go to that center for Fukada usually but there used to be one there.

Oh yeah, I'm never over there so I forgot about that one.

I think there is also one in Tustin, up on Jamboree across from the Marketplace.

But those are too far away... I only drive distances for certain junk food. :)

Boba Milk Tea lovers, have you guys tried these:https://whateveryoudesire.files.wordpress.com/2011/09/img_5717.jpg

They are so freakin' awesome.  They sell them at 99 Ranch, unfortunately it's around $5 for a box of 5 but I am addicted to these.  I like how they split the milk and the tea part, and theirs little pieces of boba in the tea section.  I want one now just thinking about it #weightgain

Did somebody read this and go buy all these!?  I took a special trip to 99 Ranch tonight right before closing specifically to pick up 2 boxes of these and they were sold out.  In the 5 years I've been buying them, never had that happen.  Should have kept my mouth shut.

FYI, they're back in stock, and on sale this week for $3.50 - go and stock up!

Just got back from the D.D./B.R. grand opening in F.R.

It's been a madhouse down there all day. I actually drove by at 11:30 p.m. last night on my drive home from work and the first person was already there to win the $250 g.c. at opening this morning. They have run out of all the cronuts and other varities but still many kinds left. The line was still out the door even at this hour but it moved quickly.

SoCal don't they have a drive thru?  Was it pretty bad as well?

I guess if any good comes of this it's that the starbucks drive thru down the street on Alton won't be as packed...

Yes, that's right, they have a drive-through. It didn't look too bad. The drive-through was full of cars but not backed up. It seemed to be moving along just fine.

Mr. SoCal drives by that Starbucks every morning and he told me that this morning, on D.D.'s opening day, that Sbux was as busy as usual.

Is that the Lake Forest one? Used to be Alberto's and before that Chronic Tacos.

Maybe you should have bought in Baker Ranch since you like to eat off of El Toro so much. :)

Yup, near Home Depot/99 cent store.  One of my favorite streets in OC, Sizzler, China Buffet, Mongolian BBQ, In N Out, that new fried chicken fingers place....
