Junk fooding

NEW -> Contingent Buyer Assistance Program
You guys might have already seen those by now. I took the pic last week when I first saw them and was going to post it. Then my cable modem died. And then I went away for a little while on a retreat.

Me no like marshmallow.

Yeah, me no like marshmallow either. I did not actually buy the cookies. But I think they might still be good because I doubt there is really any marshmallow in there. It's probably just the regular filling with some mild flavoring is my guess. I might buy them next time.

ive been meaning to post about the smores oreos for a while and keep forgetting. i bought some of those several weeks ago, they are really good. these and the red velvet are probably my two favorite outside of the standard oreo flavor. still have half of the package. debating whether i should leave at the bball court or not for IHO.

ill have to try that out. although you can get smores at the rocky mountain chocolate factory by AMC theater as well.

This brownie batter Oreo sounds pretty good.  Can't wait to try it.

For those of you who aren?t keeping track at home, the list of new Oreo flavors introduced this year includes Red Velvet, Cotton Candy, Chocolate Lemon Twist, and S?mores.

However, Limited Edition Brownie Batter Oreo might soon be added to the list.

Interesting. I hadn't heard of the Chocolate Lemon Twist. Brownie Batter... I'm all over that. Will definitely keep my eyes peeled.

*Attention* All Junk Food Junkies, the below is a must try.

I've seen this Ice Cream place in Fountain Valley called "Afters" getting good reviews and the pics are pretty mouth watering.  As much as I wanted to try it I didn't have any reason to go to Fountain Valley and I didn't want to drive there just for this.

Browsing Yelp yesterday, I noticed they just opened one in Tustin on the corner of Main and Newport, so I convinced a few of my coworkers to try it with me at lunch.  And behold...

I ordered the Milky Bun with Churro Ice Cream and Cinnamon Toast Crunch topping.  This thing is diabetes on a plate but wow, I think it changed my life.  Its like a super dense, super sweet krispy kreme donut on steroids.  The bun is served warm and fresh then they put the frozen ice cream of choice inside with your selected topping.  It's freaking good.

I warn you though a lot of my asian co-workers though it was too sweet, but this is coming from the same people who require birthday cakes from the asian bakery because they're not too sweet.

All of you guys gotta go try this though.  I think I can only stomach about 1 per month,  but once the sugar dilutes from my bloodstream I'm heading back to get another combination.

Make sure you get the Milky Bun, don't just order Ice Cream in a cup or cone, or it's a wasted trip... Enjoy!

There are a few shops in Irvine copying the "Afters" experience.

Stax in the University Center does ice cream in a donut (and maybe Snow Monster too).

I bought the Smores Oreos. Meh. Nothing to write home about. The "marshmallow" isn't noticeable to me at all but neither is the rest of the cookie either. Kind of bland and boring. My kids definitely like them, though. I let them have those while I went to bake some "black and whites" instead - chocolate cookies with white chocolate chips. Unfortunately, they are very good and I ate some breakfast. The last two days. Bad SoCal! On that note, after seeing how carried away I am getting, baking cookies right after I made rice pudding, I am now back to counting calories. There is no other choice. I obviously have a problem with sweets. Admittedly, they are my drug of choice. I need to get a grip on this.

Tried one of these at Carl's Jr:

The pictures made it seem larger... but you have to remember how small a Ding Dong is*.

Would not buy again for $1.49.

That Ding Dong ice cream sandwich would be so easy to make at home.

I made marbled fudge yesterday.

I have been back to counting calories for the past 11 days. Dropped some weight and inches while still eating M&Ms every day. So far, so good.

Has anyone tried any of the new Starbucks frapp flavors? I don't like SBUX - their beans nor their politics - so I'm not much of a customer but the Red Velvet Cake flavor sounded kind of intriguing. The flavors are:

Caramel Cocoa Cluster
Cinnamon Roll
Red Velvet Cake
Cotton Candy
Cupcake
Lemon Bar

I can hardly spare any calories for these treats. Are these samples or did you really buy 6 of them?

It's just a marketing photo I found online. I haven't tried any of them.

Just picked up some sriracha ketchup. I'm curious how it compares to the Tabasco ketchup. I'll report back with the winner

Try this Jalapeno Tempura Char at Habit today and it's pretty good.  Can't find an official pic so burrow this one from Yelp, it might be a limited time offering.
