Junk fooding

NEW -> Contingent Buyer Assistance Program
Taco Tuesday at Urban Seoul in Spectrum is so good.  3 Pork Belly Tacos @ $2ea + Canteloupe Mint Lemonade and I'm a happy camper the rest of the day.

Yo, Qwerty! I was just at Target a little bit ago and found these men's lounge pants. Guess who I thought of right away? I just had to take a picture. They can either be your new pants for sexy time with Mrs. Qwerty OR they can double as fat-pants for those days when you're "junk fooding" and only an elastic waist will do.  :D

That is so gross.  I'm staying away from 7-11 and the homeless moldy mugs that will be running through that slurpee machine.

Tried the MV Dunkin' Donut's this AM. The 2 hr wait my brother experienced (he's a committed DD fan) is now down to a 10 minute or less line.

Their coffee exceeded expectations for a chain donut place. Hot enough, not too sweet, not too milky. It's not Starbux, but it's not Farmer Bros either.

The donut's were OK, nothing to jump up and down about. Edible, but there are better donutteries in the area. A solid notch above Winchells, but that isn't saying a whole lot. I'm not a fan of Krispy Kreme at all due to their astronomical sugar content but the variety at DD was strong enough to warrant a return if I'm passing through at an early hour.

The staff were all going through a measure of crowd shock and errors in order were a'plenty. On the flip side, after a 10min wait in line the person in front of me ordered a hyper complex order, then blurted "oh, I forgot my purse" now freezing the line for 5 min while her daughter went to fish money out of Mom's car. Time delays are expected when new places open, and I'd bet most of the issues are with the customers who don't know what to order compared to their ever patient staff.

My .02c

I'm baaaack! A one week cruise to Mexico and I just barely lived to tell about it. Oh, man. Iho, you were on my mind so many times during the past week when I was at the buffet and the dining room as I thought to myself you would love it. I didn't take any photos of food because I'm not really into that kind of thing. But suffice it to say, you would see more plates than sunrises and sunsets. I sailed Carnival, which is famous for their Chocolate Melting Cakes.

Now I must go look for that 30 day diet challenge thread. Let the diet begin.

Welcome back!

Thank you, Qwerty! It was great getting to meet all of your three-legged cousins. Lots of dreamy guys there in your homeland. There was this one guy, my tour guide on a camel safari in Cabo. He goes by "Hector the Protector". Gorgeous. Golden brown skin, dark hair, green eyes, and a really beautiful smile. I was debating running off with him to start a second family in Meh-hee-co while making tortillas to supplement our camel-herding income. But I wasn't sure an Orange County girl, the same shade as snow, could make it on an 800 acre camel ranch, living off the desert landscape. So, I had to come back. Next time, Hector. Next time. Sigh.

Need to try wendys ghost pepper fries this week. Diced jalape?os and cheese/ghost pepper sauce

I dare you to eat that alongside with Carl's new "El Diablo" burger.

CarlsJr.-El-Diablo.jpg

Jalapeno Poppers, Pepperjack cheese, Habanero sauce, and sliced jalapenos.

So when SoCal sees a buffet she thinks of me, but when she sees a dreamy, gorgeous guy on a camel she thinks of qwercalves.

Actually, I'm okay with that... I'll take a buffet over Hector any day.

The Diablo burger is on my list. I have a checkup in two weeks so trying to eat healthier to manipulate the numbers :-)

If you ever want some at home, I believe some of our local grocery stores have started to carry their ground coffee, iirc.

I think you would love cruise ship dining. Going to the dining room allows you to work those buffet techniques that have been mentioned on T.I., while having someone else do all the work for you. For example, they offer Appetizers, Entrees, sides, and desserts. You select as many from each section as you want. On my ship, the menu had 2 sides. The left side were the everyday items. The right side were items only served that night. And then there's one section called "Didja", as in, "Did you ever try..." and that is where they put the weird stuff like alligator fritters, which I thought were pretty nasty, by the way. So, anyway, what some people do is order 1 appetizer, 10 lobster tails!, and a dessert. Or you could order every appetizer. Or every single entree. Or whatever. Some people pig out and leave behind a mountain of filet mignon plates or lobster tails.

We hit a few buffets while in Vegas.

The wife likes the fru-fru (and expensive) ones (Bachhanal at Caeser's is $53/person, no kids age 5-12 discount)... but the cheapest one (at South Pointe) was the best tasting to me.

It's funny though, when we got back, eating out is boring because we can only eat one type of food.

had those ghost pepper fries from wendys, more heat from the diced jalapeno than the ghost pepper sauce. they were pretty good.
