Kamala campaign flip-flops on EV mandates

Harris Claims She ‘Does Not Support’ Electric Car Mandates After Years of Backing Them

The former senator cosponsored legislationbanningp gas-powered cars by 2040

A campaign official for Kamala Harris said Tuesday that it is a “lie” that the vice president Kamala Harris supports implementing an electric vehicle mandate, even though she cosponsored legislation doing exactly that in 2019.

Harris’s director of rapid response, Ammar Moussa, wrote in a campaign email ahead of Trump running mate J.D. Vance’s remarks on the economy in Michigan that the Ohio senator would “undoubtedly lie, gaslight, and try to run away from the truth.” One such lie, he cautioned, is that “Vice President Harris wants to force every American to own an electric vehicle.”

False equivalence.
Wrong again…Segway’s were thought to be a revolution in mobility. Would replace the car and change the way we build cities…just like EV’s…it failed…🤦🏽‍♂️😂😂😂👎🏽🦄🌈

Reinventing the Wheel

DECEMBER 2, 2001 12:00 AM EST

Kamen’s aspirations are even grander than that. He believes the Segway “will be to the car what the car was to the horse and buggy.” He imagines them everywhere: in parks and at Disneyland, on battlefields and factory floors, but especially on downtown sidewalks from Seattle to Shanghai. “Cars are great for going long distances,” Kamen says, “but it makes no sense at all for people in cities to use a 4,000-lb. piece of metal to haul their 150-lb. asses around town.” In the future he envisions, cars will be banished from urban centers to make room for millions of “empowered pedestrians”–empowered, naturally, by Kamen’s brainchild.

Kamen’s dream of a Segway-saturated world won’t come true overnight. In fact, ordinary folks won’t be able to buy the machines for at least a year, when a consumer model is expected to go on sale for about $3,000. For now, the first customers to test the Segway will be deep-pocketed institutions such as the U.S. Postal Service and General Electric, the National Parks Service and Amazon.com–institutions capable of shelling out about $8,000 apiece for industrial-strength models. And Kamen’s dreamworld won’t arrive at all unless he and his team can navigate the array of obstacles that are sure to be thrown up by competitors and ever cautious regulators.

Too many articles to link to but almost every OEM that has an EV in their lineup has reported increased sales last quarter/June.

Volvo quadrupled, Audi over 30% than last year... even BYD in China had record sales in June.

Good thing they are not listening to morekaos.
You were saying?...🤦🏽‍♂️😂😂😂👎🏽🦄🌈

Sweden’s Volvo Cars scraps plan to sell only electric vehicles by 2030

· Swedish automaker Volvo Cars abandoned its near-term goal of selling only electric vehicles, citing a need to be “pragmatic and flexible” amid changing market conditions and cooling demand.

· The Geely-owned carmaker said that it now aims for 90% to 100% of its cars sold to be fully electric or plug-in hybrid models by 2030, while up to 10% will allow for a limited number of mild hybrid models.

· The target replaces a 2021 pledge for Volvo Cars’ lineup to be fully electric by the end of the decade.

VW the second legacy car company, after Ford, to invest in Rivian:

See what I mean?...VW (like ford) does not make very good financial decisions. This overcomittment (band wagon) is one of them…Rivian is another…🤦🏽‍♂️👎🏽😂😂😂🦄🌈

Volkswagen Considers Shutting Down a German Factory for the First Time in History After Overestimating the EV Market

Volkswagen (VW) AG is considering shuttering factories in Germany as European car companies struggle to compete with Chinese electric vehicle (EV) manufacturers.

The company has not closed a German plant in its entire 87-year history, but facing a slowdown in European car sales and stiff competition from Chinese EV maker BYD it is now weighing its options, according to Bloomberg. Experts predict the move would spark closures across the continent, with more than 30 European car factories currently operating at unprofitable levels.

And the administration could care less (not their money)…rolled again trying to dictate to the markets what consumers want….😡😡😡👎🏽🦄🌈

Foreign Automaker Lays Off Thousands of Michigan Workers after Pocketing Hundreds of Millions in Biden EV Subsidies

A multinational automaker prepared to lay off more than 2,000 American workers in August after benefiting handsomely from the Biden administration's subsidies for electric-vehicle production.

Stellantis, the parent company to famous brands like Ram and Jeep, has been awarded hundreds of millions in grants from the federal government to promote its EV manufacturing. But the Biden administration's largesse has not prevented the company from laying off American workers.

Free markets and not centralized government dictate what the populous wants. This is obvious to anybody who understood anything about American business, but the fools running these car companies just couldn’t help themselves and jumped on the bandwagon then drove off a cliff.🤦🏽‍♂️😂😂😂😂👎🏽🦄🌈

Car giants are being forced to confront some hard truths over the EV transition

  • uropean car giants are struggling to come to terms with a perfect storm of challenges on the path to full electrification.
  • Volvo Cars recently announced it had abandoned its heavily promoted plan to produce only EVs by 2030, citing a need to be “pragmatic and flexible” amid changing market conditions.
  • Crisis-stricken Volkswagen and several other carmakers, including Ford and Mercedes, have all announced plans to delay earlier targets to phase out sales of internal combustion engines vehicles in Europe.
“A lot of manufacturers who had sort of stopped investing in internal combustion engine technology have started to realize that, if we don’t continue to invest, we’re not going to be competitive, we’re not going to actually have the product in showrooms that people want to buy,” he added.

don’t believe you’re lying eyes! 🤦🏽‍♂️😂😂😂😂 Tell this great news to all those Ford Stellantis, Volkswagen and Mercedes auto workers that are being laid off from idle EV factories set up by the foolish bandwagon ceos running their companies…. The markets meet out justice in painful ways.🤷🏽‍♂️😂😂😂👍🦄🌈
