Locals buying $2.5mm+ homes in Irvine with cash?
I guess Hell has frozen over.
So does this mean laguna altura is losing its appeal as well?

When you say "Asian" do you include east Indian and Persian?

I think one of the families I met on the street are Persian. None are East Indian so far. Toll Bros. is doing a "meet and greet" party for all the Phase 1 and 2 buyers in a couple of weeks to get to know each other so I will get a better idea of the mix of people buying.

What's with the obsession over Asian buyers or neighbors? It seems every other message here surrounds this topic.

It means: Coming to an IUSD near you, this year's Cultural Appreciation Day theme is ... "White People". Complete with -- *Square Dancing! *Play Horseshoes! *The Principal will BBQ hamburgers for everyone! *Each room mom will supply a Tater Tot Casserole! *Music featuring Lynyrd Skynyrd, George Strait, and more! ***Parents, if you'd like to visit, please park on the lawn!
Eyephone, I'll be your "Token White Friend".

Just thought I would chime in here since I'm a Marbella buyer in Phase 2. Half the lots in our phase was FCB all local folks. They are very strict about not having investors.

Some just worries that if one community was overly dominate by one ethnic group it might alienate or turn off other potential buyers in the future.
Although Irvine population has about 30-40% Asians, these new developments of recent years have about 80%+ Asians. Just look this pic of Cypress Village Elementary School and it shows a good reflection of home ownership here.
