Friday Boredom - Your Pet Peeves

NEW -> Contingent Buyer Assistance Program
Depends when that happened.

I think the legality of the lower left or lower right passed in 2009 (during which time GPS on smartphones hadn't become as prevalent).

Pet Peeve:

Rainbow Loom madness. If you're a parent, you'll understand.

I've gotten sucked into it. My boy begged me to take him to get some after school (and he never begs for anything ever so I said ok.) Went to HobLob. The manager knew what I was looking for before I even opened my mouth. Sold out. Headed for Michael's. Huge rack with signs and arrows upon entry. Score. Waited in line with obsessed parents buying shopping carts full of the stuff! OmG. I've spent the last hour doing Rainbow Loom tutorials and demos for my kids. My boy told me to make a bunch of these friendship bracelets for all my "friends on the computer" and "throw them at the computer screen" to give them to you. So, I'm throwing them at you now!! You get a Rainbow Loom. YOU get a Rainbow Loom. Everybody gets a Rainbow Loooooom!

We also have a factory in our home.

It's like someone with braces exploded all over the family room.

But I'm fine with it, I think it gives them something to do other than TV or iPod and it's neat the kind of creative designs they come up with. It's like knitting/crochet but with rubber bands.

I see some kids bringing the looms to restaurants.

Yeah right... she's not allowed to touch the soil in your backyard.

*BOOM* Yes... I went there!

LOL!!! That's hilarious. I said the same thing when I saw the bands. I used to be an orthodontic assistant. It reminds me of placing bands on patients.

Yeah, I'm fine with them doing, it too. Exactly, much more productive than TV / video games. They can develop their fine motor skills. Although, I do think this activity is more suited to girls whose brains are said to be wired for more attuned fine motor skills. I can see that as my boys do get really frustrated & vocal about it when the bands keep popping off. It takes a long time to make a single bracelet. Tensions run high when they pull it off for the big reveal & the whole thing falls apart because one band was out of place. They find the crochet method even harder than the loom. Imo, the crochet method is a lot easier but I already knit and crochet.

Yeah, right. You'll be teaching Rainbow Loom classes at the Rec Center before you know it. Reserve me a spot 'cause I can't wait to see it.

the map they gave us didnt show any plume in columbus square and if there was, its in the groundwater which is at least 6 feet deep. grass doesnt have long roots so i think she'll be fine.

look at the chinese, they live knee deep in filth and other toxic shit and they are fine.
