Why do you make posts like these?

Has nothing to do being a young fit athlete... they have more exposure to others than normal people just by the nature of their profession... "Sorry... can't guard your 3 because of social distancing."

So even with vaccinations... they have a much higher chance of infection than you or I.

See there you go again with blanket assumptions. Most of us wanted the vaccine to be developed quickly. You?re the one casting aspersions on the efficacy of the vaccines. Why bring Trump into this?

Science is allowed to shift as we get more data and history. Just like no one is disinfecting their groceries any more.

Orange County has added a couple of new metrics to their daily COVID dashboard:

% Of Hospitalized Persons Unvaccinated - 87%
% Of ICU Admits Unvaccinated - 88%

Confirmed cases are also spiking at about 2,000 daily cases so far, making this latest Omicron wave already larger than the first wave in June 2020 and the Delta wave in August 2021.  Time will tell if we overtake last Winter's surge, which peaked at about 4,800 daily cases.  Of course, the current wave is being "undercounted" due to all of the home tests and lack of testing people will receive this time around compared to prior waves.
 
A positive about omicron is it's less severe so that might help with the medical resources.

Home kits being sold out and long lines at testing locations is also a good sign that people want to be more aware of their health status rather than just shrug it off and infect more people.
 
Some people were sick and did not attend my Christmas party.
Even if they did not have COVID i'm glad they stayed home.
 
update.
The people who did not attend my party have covid.
The husband who was sick first is getting better.
The wife is now having chills and loss of energy.
No one is hospitalized.
The kids seem ok.


I'm just glad people who are sick aren't going around spreading it.
Even if it's just the flu...or covid...


The husband did not have a booster but had the first 2 shots back in APR.

Caught that flipping channels on way to grocery store on KFI, not sure who the substitute host was but suspect he was spot on with his analysis.  For schools and the college football machine to cancel bowl games, shit must really have hit the fan for the teams.  The schools, the programs, the college football business are not going to walk away from that financial windfall and reputation impact lightly.
 
Bowl eligibility in 2021-2022 will definitely be redefined and contingencies and alternates will become the norm. If not, the number bowls will shrink due to the huge financial risk. No way will a responsible corporate sponsor or partner work with a whimsical and woke university that will flake on a moments notice.
 
Virus going virus.

Yesterday while doing that grocery run and a couple other stops, it was very prominent the amount of coughing and sniffling you heard in the store.  Mask use is back up, but there are a lot of people walking around coughing and snorting and frankly, it seems the ones doing the coughing and snorting are the ones that are most lax with their masks.

 
...as I have said since the beginning....We are all going to get this or have already had it....virus gonna virus...The push to increase testing will only drive up the confirmed numbers and cause more panic porn...

Soaring Omicron infections have changed the country's outlook on COVID as the pandemic enters a third year.

The tally eclipsed the previous high of 294,015 set last January, before vaccines were widely available.

The CDC said the surge had inflated the seven-day moving average to now more than 240,000 cases a day, creating concerns about everything from worker shortages to crowded hospitals and inadequate supplies of testing kits.

RUTLAND, Vt. (WCAX) - Some Vermonters who are able to find antigen tests and then test positive are clogging up emergency rooms.

The emergency department at the Rutland Regional Medical Center has been overwhelmed with asymptomatic folks.

Dr. Rick Hildebrant is RRMC?s medical director. He says some people who test positive with a rapid test go to the emergency room looking for a PCR test.

The Vermont Hospital Association says it?s hearing similar stories from other parts of the state.

Didn't you say virus is gonna virus? Why would they stay home if you say it's nothing to worry about and everyone is going to get it? Aren't you saying no need to vax and no need to mask?

Now you're telling people to stay home?

Taxing medical resources is EXACTLY why people should vax, mask, social distance and take precautions... we talked about this many times before... the whole idea of the lock down and all the safety protocols was to prevent overrunning the hospitals and ICUs.

Termination of unvaccinated health care workers backfires as Biden pledges help amid COVID surge
President Biden is deploying military doctors and health care workers to bolster hospitals amid the spike in omicron variant cases. But in the last few months, thousands of health care workers across the nation have been terminated over refusing to comply with vaccine mandates, leaving health care providers in the lurch with staffing shortages while bracing for more patients.

"FEMA is deploying hundreds of ambulances and EMS crews to transport patients. We?ve already deployed emergency response teams in Colorado, Michigan, Minnesota, Vermont, New Hampshire, and New Mexico. We?re ready to provide more hospital beds as well."

Four months ago, disgraced former New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo announced a vaccine mandate for health care workers, and those who did not comply faced termination.

The total number of inactive employees in the state due to the vaccine mandate sits at 37,192 as of Dec. 21, according to the data.

Iowa meanwhile is spending more than $9 million to hire out-of-state nurses to cope with a spike in hospitalizations. The state will pay nurses through a Kansas company, who will be expected to work 20 hours of overtime at $330 an hour. 

The staffing shortages, terminations and now the spikes in omicron cases have not been lost on critics, who are calling the problems "government created."
