Miami Herald News: Florida COVID update: State sees the largest multi-day case increase on record

Florida on Thursday reported 77,848 additional COVID-19 cases and 90 more deaths to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, according to Miami Herald calculations of CDC data. The large increase comes from the CDC backlogging cases and deaths for Florida on Mondays and Thursdays, when multiple days in the past have their totals changed.

Not really...just more fear porn...

Florida, which sporadically reports cases, has logged a 818 percent increase in cases over the past two weeks - averaging 83 new cases a day out of every 100,000 residents. These numbers could be a result of delayed reporting, though, and could significantly shrink in the coming weeks.

Just got a text from one of my good friends who is boarding a Cruise Sunday out of NOLA with his whole family.  They were also on the first cruise out of long Beach last month with a large group from the YC.  Said no sign of people backing out, Could care less and is excited to get on board.  Like I said, you guys should celebrate guys like us....more room for you, right?

So if the "professionals"  who we pay for their expertise in "science" are basing their proclamations on "feelings"...is that good?

CDC director says new COVID-19 isolation rules were based on 'what we thought people would be able to tolerate'

The CDC said new COVID-19 isolation guidelines were based on what it thought people could tolerate.
CDC Director Rochelle Walensky said the changes were made in the context of surging cases.
Omicron accounts for 59% of all sequenced COVID-19 cases in the US, according to CDC data.

Who was being forceful? I think you just want to bring up China.

I mean our hospitals are becoming like hospitals in third world countries. They are getting full, and people do not have access to it or have to wait a long time for service. You can thank unvaccinated people for filling up the hospital.
I just feel sorry for people who get into accidents, heart attack, strokes, health emergency as they have to wait a long time for service. (depending on the area)

We are paying a boat load of money for health insurance to have access to doctors and/or hospitals. But unfortunately we have to wait like a long time.

(I think we should get like a discount or a rebate or just go to doctors and pay cash when we need health services. Just saying)

To counter morekaos anecdotes:

A friend of mine was in LA today and they wouldn't let him in to eat unless he showed his vaccination card.

So yeah, not only are they enforcing masks, but also enforcing vax.

I just finished lunch over the bridge at a sport bar in seal beach?not even the waitresses and kitchen workers had a mask on, let alone all the patrons?they live in realsville.  Nothin like a cold beer and burger on a rainy day.  My side of that bridge is stalag #13. ;D ;D >:D

Frankly I don?t care.  Just want the people in the grocery store to properly wear their masks when shopping, if they have a cough and stuffy nose to please use the curbside services.

Is that too much to ask of people?

My work insurance health insurance increased for 2022.
How about charge more health insurance for unvaccinated just like they charge more for smokers? (I know some are as a private company)  It doesnt take a genius to figure out that the cost for hospitalization is huge.

We should get a discount for not going to the hospital!!!

What have I missed? Just got discharged from the hospital.

By the way, in Germany 95% of Omicron cases are vaccinated; yet 71% of population are vaccinated. So does that mean vaccinated means higher chance of being infected?
