Only because the panicked hoards,(by our media) with no symptoms, who should just stay home, are clogging the emergency rooms...

Didn't you say virus is gonna virus? Why would they stay home if you say it's nothing to worry about and everyone is going to get it? Aren't you saying no need to vax and no need to mask?

Now you're telling people to stay home?

Taxing medical resources is EXACTLY why people should vax, mask, social distance and take precautions... we talked about this many times before... the whole idea of the lock down and all the safety protocols was to prevent overrunning the hospitals and ICUs.

Be careful out there.

Not saying that at all...if you get it, don't go running to the ER in a panic.  I know a dozen people who have this variant right now...all just sitting at home and feeling like they have a cold...virus is virusing...itself into a cold.

Orange County hospitalizations have doubled in the past week, meanwhile Dems are gonna Dem.  Let's fire the frontline heros that got us through the pandemic at great risk to themselves before a vaccine was available.

You mean anti-vaxxers are gonna anti-vaxx? So they were at great risk to themselves before a vaccine, and now they want to be at great risk to others? FUCK anti-vaxxers.

Virus gonna Virus...

RIP, 'Pandemic of the Unvaccinated'
Farewell to a Biden White House messaging strategy that was terrible long before Omicron

So if vaccine mandates aren?t moving the needle on vaccination, what, precisely, are they for? One particularly ungenerous hypothesis is hard to avoid. Rebranding COVID-19 as the ?pandemic of the unvaccinated,? then targeting that population with punishments for noncompliance, has been a way to scapegoat political opponents and technology companies, while bolstering the sense of virtuousness among the vaxxed.

Those dynamics were present at the creation of the re-brand. The same week that the White House COVID-19 Response Team began telling vaccinated people that the pandemic was now for those other people, Surgeon General Vivek Murthy called for a ?whole-of-society? effort to combat ?health misinformation,? then Biden just flat-out accused Facebook and other social media companies of ?killing people.?

Thousands who ?followed the rules? are about to get covid.

For two years now, Aline, a 30-something graduate student in Ohio, has diligently ? desperately, even ? protected herself against the coronavirus. Vaccinated and boosted, she took a test last week ahead of holiday travel to Atlanta. She was stunned when it came back positive.

Aline, who requested to be identified by her first name only for privacy reasons, is still puzzling over how she got the virus ? was it because she wore a cloth mask rather than a medical-grade one? ? and worries that the cough she has now could worsen because she has diabetes. That?s not the most painful part of the ordeal, though: ?I feel very embarrassed and dumb,? she says, and upset that she?s causing her family stress. ?It?s eye-opening that I feel so much shame from it. I?m realizing how much judgment I was secretly harboring against people who got it before.?

Yes, just a cold that puts 7,814 people a day into the hospital.

Pretend it doesn?t exists, won?t people think of the bowl games?!?!

Not a lot of death and maybe people should not create unnecessary runs on the ER....

Somebody that has natural immunity due to the risks they took on everybody's behalf (to whom you say f*ck you) is not endangering anybody.  Firing healthcare workers in the midst of a pandemic is senseless and dumb, and will undoubtedly lead to suffering and unnecessary death during this new surge.

Except MOST of these healthcare workers don't have natural immunity. They didn't catch COVID and just refuse to get vaccinated. A healthcare worker who doesn't believe in medicine shouldn't be working in the field.

Give it two weeks, you haven?t seen anything yet until after the kids go back to school Tuesday.

Besides it?s all fun and catchy phrases until someone you know can?t get a hospital room.

Stats for the past 3 days in the US:

2 days ago: 239,214 new cases and 877 new deaths
yesterday: 329,107 new cases and 1,999 new deaths
today (as of now): 410,024 new cases and 1,406 new deaths

Yup, just a cold.

Chinese lockdown rule-breakers are publicly shamed and paraded through the streets carrying placards with their names on in bid to ensure Covid rules are obeyed

Police in Jingxi city paraded alleged violators of Covid rules through the streets
The four suspects had to carry placards displaying their photos and names
China banned such public shaming and parading of criminal suspects in 2010
But the practice has resurfaced amid extremely strict lockdown controls
It comes as 13 million in China were barred from going outside, even for food

This is crazy, how can anyone stand for this treatment in today's day and age?  Probably just trying to go out and get food for their starving family and they make a mockery of them in public like this?  I used to want to visit mainland China but that desire is mostly/all but gone.

They should have just played.

Can?t play Covid positive and sounds like their entire d-line and back up and fill in are all out.

If the NFL will let you play in 5 days so should the NCAA..

NFL, NFLPA adopt new COVID-19 protocols, reduce required isolation time to five days for positive players

That goes for both vaccinated and unvaccinated players, if they're asymptomatic

I agree. The NCAA should cut the BS too and pay the college players like the NFL.

Ahhhh...sweet sweet natural immunity...

Catching Omicron strain may protect against Delta and usher in endemic phase of Covid, study suggests
Africa Health Research Institute said antibody levels spiked against the variants
This may be due to Omicron infections rousing previous immunity from Covid
Or it could be because antibodies against Omicron can also fight the Delta strain
Scientists not involved in study said it was likely Delta was being outcompeted

US sets WORLD record 489,267 COVID cases in 24 hours as country risks grinding to a HALT: 'Incoming viral blizzard will make it hard to keep everyday life operating'
The U.S. recorded 489,267 new cases on Thursday, the most of any country in the world during the pandemic so far
On average, America is recording 300,000 new cases per day, a record for the pandemic as the nation suffers another winter surge
Dr Michael Osterholm, a former advisor to President Biden's transition team, said he expects a 'viral blizzard' to exacerbate the situation in the coming weeks
The Omicron COVID-19 variant is fueling the surge, and accounts for between 40% to 70% of new COVID-19 cases, according to CDC data
The CDC recently dropped the required quarantine time for a positive Covid case down to five days, from ten, in an effort to keep society running amid the surge
