30 Day Fitness Challenge

NEW -> Contingent Buyer Assistance Program
The recipe isn't good for reducing. You're limited with one egg, unless you're using an egg substitute

I used the Hershey's Bits of Toffee nutrition info and took all other info from the USDA nutrient database.  I did not include any calories for the greasing of the pan so depending on what you do there you could pick up a bit.

I get between 3000 - 3100 for the entire pan.  Or about 340 calories per 3x3 serving, not including ice cream.

I just went to the grocery store and noticed those Salted Caramel Biscotti I posted about earlier were sold out! Wow. Who would have thought the shelf would be cleared of them. They had all the other flavors.

Remember, you guys - Friday updates tomorrow!

Things are looking good for me. I've been eating a lot of wintergreen mints and chewing Ice Breakers peppermint Ice Cube gum (yum!) every day to deal with hunger all week. It's working brilliantly. (Plus, I have the best breath in Orange County.) I don't want to go too crazy, though, like those anorexic models in New York who only drink black coffee and eat mints all day. Oh, but I am sooo, sooo far from that, no worries there! I'm definitely seeing a difference physically now. My fat cheeks feel a little less fat. The clothes are looser. I've cut coffee & creamer size in half. Huge difference. It frees up extra calories and keeps cravings at bay. I should have done that a long time ago. I am thinking about cutting it out completely. I went without it for most of my life. I missed it a lot when I was pregnant & bfd'ing but I never had a drop then. I survived. So, why am I so scared to do it now? Ugh. I don't know!  :( I'm just anxious about that.

Friday Update

This week's loss: 1.5 lbs.

Total loss since 4/10: 11.5 lbs.  :)

This feels like it's going sooo slooooowwww.

Am I the only one still doing the "30 Day" Fitness Challenge? I haven't seen Friday updates in the last couple weeks except mine. CZ, I know you updated sometime last week and are monitoring, holding steady. NSR, I think you are still challenging yourself and trying to fit it in with work, travelling... no update. But: Kubert, Homer, and Iho  - I guess you all either dropped out or stopped updating?

I won't be dropping out. Although I might stop doing Friday updates if nobody else is.

I am not in a "30 day" time frame anymore. I did want to try it out, and originally asked Homer to kick start the thread, but pity, never found the time or energy to get out of my comfort zone. But, trying to eat healthy and walk when I can to at least stop gaining. Didn't weigh in Friday, and today.. well last night had a little too much to drink. I don't think it will be a good number wherever I move the scale in the bathroom. But melted Mother's day brownie :)

Friday's aren't my best day.  I weighed in early and maybe got a 0.5 lb.  Maybe being operative word.  Basically, I'm all in the noise range stil.  Not my best week.

My wife got me the fitbit thing and I've been keeping track with her and our friends for a while.  I'm still eating healthy and running everyday.  My colleagues want me to join him in training for an iron man... I'm not that strong of a swimmer but I guess that gives me more motivation to work at it..

Hope everyone's doing well on their fitness goals.. I won't be posting as much soon.. We got a few vacation trips planned for the next few weeks but I will probably just come on TI to read the postings :)

Homer! That is amazing!!  :o Wow, very cool you are going to do the Ironman. How exciting! If I recall, those are televised. You'll have to tell us which one you are so we can watch.

I'm training for a triathlon too, but instead of running/swimming/biking it's eating/drinking/sleeping... it's called the Iron... Stomach.

Have you given up or what? Haven't seen an update in a while. No news to report? Come on, now, Iho. You can do it. Tell us about your goals for this summer.

It's the same... walking more, playing ball more, trying to eat less... still huskier than normal but I figure it's not going to be instantaneous.

I think I've won the 30 120 Day Challenge.  ;) I've lost about 15 lbs. in 6 weeks as of this Wednesday - and that's with one arm tied behind my back (the thyroid stuff working against me.) No plans of stopping any time soon. Now that it's been 6 weeks since I've been back on the thyroid supplements, I expect it to be full steam ahead because 6 weeks is the amount of time it needed to take full effect. I go this week to get blood taken and see how things are doing there.

I'm training to compete.

Ok. Well, then like I said - "Yay! Amazing!"  :) That is really cool. I don't "know" you, but I feel like I do and I am proud of you!!

Well, I hope you guys don't mind if I keep doing Friday updates. It will look like I'm having a conversation with myself since I'm the only one still participating. But I know the pressure of making my progress public will help keep me motivated to try harder.

Friday Update

This week's loss: 1 lb.

Total loss since 4/10: 12.5 lbs.

... I also keep a graph. The curve is starting to level off. I really need to increase my deficit. I know I said that a week or two ago but haven't!

Health: I received lab results. I am now taking a little too much thyroid medication. It shows. I've been pretty high-strung lately! Jittery, a little irritable  >:( . I can feel my heart beating faster. I've had trouble falling sleep. I'm jumpy. I get startled pretty easily. Sometimes my hands are trembling. It's kind of like being on speed. It should make weight loss a breeze & has in the past, so I don't know why I'm only losing 1 lb. per week. Probably just need to give it more time. I'll be going to the doctor shortly for a checkup. At least this is better than how I was feeling - the opposite - like I was dying.

Thanks.  ;) Good job on your workouts.

Today is my 13th wedding anniversary.  :) Yay! Another year and life just keeps getting better.

We are celebrating by not eating out.  :) I came *thisclose* to making dining reservations aboard the Queen Mary. They have a champagne brunch and apparently, one of the biggest buffets you've ever seen. Then, I decided we as Americans have a real problem with food. When it is somebody's birthday (and it is always someone's birthday), we have a piece of cake. When it is an anniversary, we eat out. When do we not celebrate with food, my God! Eating should not be a sport. Eat to live, don't live to eat! So, I decided we should do other things - maybe something that burns calories. Even if there is no extra big loss this week, I will be happy knowing I avoided a big potential pitfall. So far, things are looking really good for my next weigh-in!

I hope everybody else is staying on track & making strides!
