Some days are just very bad. I counted calories yesterday. Oh, I counted alright... all the way up to 2,571!  ???

We all have hard days. Bad days are A-OK. Just don't let them turn into bad weeks. Get up and get back on the horse the next day.

Wow what was up with yesterday.  I smoked my calorie count too.  and I mean smoked courtesy of lunch at Lucille's BBQ.

I bet it was worth every calorie, NSR! I've never been to Lucille's but I hear it's really good!!

Smells good :) I eat fish at Lucille's but from the mmmmmms I hear from others, it must be worth it!
Was it the weather yesterday? I do eat more when it's cold like that..

drive-thru.. saved only because we don't go to any. Only drive thru I have ever been to is SBUX. (minus that coffee smell, taste isn't worth it)

:o "'I force-feed myself 5,000 calories a day through a funnel': Meet the 23-year-old desperate to reach 30st - so that men with a fat fetish will PAY to watch her eat"

(Friends, 30st = 420 lbs. By the way, she's only 5'2".)

- Tammy Jung, 23, is increasing her weight by over 3st every 6 months
- She currently weighs 16st - halfway to her goal weight of 30st
- She spends ?70 a day on takeaways
- Encourages her boyfriend to pour milkshakes down her throat with a funnel  :-\
- Already earns ?1,000 a month online, some people pay to watch her eating  :o

Yuck! I am all for eating good food and eating well.. but pouring things down the throat is really gross!
Can I update on a Thursday? :) .5lbs down! Why is it important? This is where I flat lined last fall..

Hoe does a thread called "30 day fitness challenge" spiral into endless converstions about weight? This is a problem that thankfully the crossfit revolution is changing but not fast enough in my opinion.  If there is one important fact that all women need to know; is that muscle is twice as dense as fat. Don't focus on weight, focus on strength. STRONG IS THE NEW SKINNY!

Men should really learn this as well but I feel that women are harder on themselves about weight than men are.

LOL! You have not seen our calorie counting thread then- we turned into a recipe book in between ;-)
Women are harder on themselves when it comes to weight.. and they do think they are less beautiful than they are. (I am sure the Dove video popped up somewhere on your twitter/ facebook feed)

That's what I always say... it's not fat... it's soft muscle.

However, if I convert all this soft muscle to real muscle, I will weigh twice as much... so that's my excuse.

Talking about lifting, MFP always has a discussion on "to lift or not to lift" for women. Over the weekend. saw this woman in her 50s in the weight room. She was lifting twice what I was, and she was half my size! I am not only appreciating her ultra toned body, but also her power to lift. I can push more weight than I can lift- but then I have suffered with carpel tunnel for a long time. May be I baby my arms a bit :)

Why is paying attention to a healthy weight a "problem"? I don't follow. Weight is an important indicator of overall health for everyone. Speaking for myself, it is crucial that I pay attention because it is one the first symptoms associated with disorder of the endocrine system. This is something that affects a lot of other women, too. I'm not trying to diminish the importance of exercise but sorry - the "crossfit revolution" is not always going to help somebody who has an underlying condition. It is also not a cure-all for a poor diet. If somebody wants to post about their Crossfit accomplishments - by all means, please, be my guest! I'll be happy for you. But for me - monitoring weight (along with other TMI things) is extremely important.

I think what she meant was, pay attention to health/ endurance/ strength more than weight. Also, when you strength train more, you don't necessarily see much of a difference on scale, but you do shrink in size. Yes, one shoe doesn't fit all.. we cannot generalize.

The fitness industry is as bad as the diet industry with quackery.  IMHO, there seems to be a trend lately in an extreme self punishing workouts.  At the core, cross fit takes a lot of good concepts, variety, effort, minimalism and teeters with internet cult think.

The USA has a problem and that problem is very simple, 2/3rds of us are not in any kind of decent physical shape.

What's the deal with ropes? Everyone seems to be working out with ropes these days- at gym, at parks/ tracks.
