So now I know why they are opening a Red Robin in The District... they are closing the one in The Marketplace.

Do you know what they are putting in its place?
A bank? :)

If so, I'm going to riot. We do not need any more banks! Jeez, who goes to the bank anymore? Every time I go to the bank, it's totally empty!

Still need to go into a branch to get a money order because it's not part of their online services. Same with cash that exceeds ATM limits. I believe we've stepped foot into a bank 3 times in the last decade. Not needed very often but sometimes.

maybe its just me but i hate using ATMs.  i appreciate the empty bank as i just walk in and hand in checks.  dont like filling out the deposit slips and cause its empty, they dont mind doing it :)  i probably go into the bank every two months...

but yes, irvine has way too many physical bank locations

It is not that bad at ~8:30 PM Monday - Thursday. 2 minutes waiting max (1-2 cars line) and often there is no line at all.

Avoid the Costco gas station all all cost. I consider going there like playing a video game ostacle course but with life action.

Not worth it unless full tanking, saving a couple dollars while you idle ur car for 10 min and risk getting run over by bad, impatient drivers..no thanks

There is a shortage of gas stations in Irvine. The older ones are getting weeded out by the landlords so another Chase Bank could go in. In every TIC retail center there is a Chase Bank. Along Culver Chase banks are 1/4 mile apart with additional mini Chase located inside markets. The newer gas stations in the nice upscale strip mall are too expensive. The few choices of bargain gas all have long lines.

Gen is good for the price, especially lunch, but IMHO, not great quality.  In their defense, you can say this about almost every ayce.  The line is ridiculous.  No restaurant is worth waiting that long.  We had a very bad experience once...the salad greens that they give you in the beginning had a big ass pincher bug crawling around in it.  Freaked out my wife.  Yuck.

Thanks for the input, when we dined there the floor, tables, chairs, all had a good layer of grease on it from all the bbq going full blast 12 hours a day... Critters love oily places..  but again not too many choices around here for korean bbq ayce...

@OCgas

Did you get a free meal out of it?  Throw the bug on the grill and see what the wait staff says... :)

Seoul Garden has been around a while but there kalbi does not taste good.. the banchan has a cleaning fluid smell to it.. don't know why.. and my biggest beef with them is the flame on the grill is too low!  Makes people feast on the windex banchan and egg rolls while your bbq slowly dries out on the grill..

No free meal, not even a discount.  :( I didn't expect one, this is a Korean restaurant after all.:D I think they just took it back, took out the bug and brought back the same salad.

I'm not a fan of Seoul Garden at all.  I think their quality is very poor + all the stuff you said.  Gen blows them away...bugs and all.

Does anyone know what the new building is in Von Karman Plaza that is being built in front of the soon-to-be Walmart?  It looks like it could be a restaurant.  Not that it matters, but I was bummed when the Burger King closed.

Itriya Cafe at Diamond Jamboree just closed recently. Only open for a year. Never got around to trying it.

Also, Daily Grill at Fashion Island is closing at the end of this month. That restaurant has been there forever.

It actually had pretty good food... it was just expensive.

The owner was really nice too.

I never liked it that much (way too salty), but it was convenient and quick.  A lot of times I would go and say I'm never going back again, but then I would get an email and coupon and want to try one of their new dishes.
