Presidential Elections

NEW -> Contingent Buyer Assistance Program
While Trump did say some scary shit during the election, lets give him a chance to see what he actually does, it may surprise you.  I don't think it's helpful that even before day 1 of the Trump presidency, the Hillary supporters and the media are already trying to convince us that Trump is going to burn the Reichstag.

Yep I'm giving him a chance.  His actions since taking office have been a complete 180 since the election time so it proves to me he was just trolling us and the republicans this whole time.  He seems, like people have said, quite a democrat at heart.  He's calmed the LGBT crowd saying same sex marriage is settled law (though if he appoints conservative judges in the supreme court, could he pretty much change the law eventually?) He's lowered his stance on illegals, from deporting millions to "illegal criminals" similar to what Obama did, seems willing to work with Democrats on the healthcare issue, keeping the parts that cover millions while "reforming it" instead of abolishing it like he promised...stocks are high, the dollar is still strong.

The protests are another issue.  I get peaceful protests as it's our right but blocking off freeways and roads seems like just inconveniencing people who need to go home/work...I'm not sure if those Hillary supporters/anti trump understand that concept...plus don't they have jobs? How can they keep getting days off..

The only part that is scary so far with Trump is he is wishy-washy that we have no idea what he's thinking or when he changes his mind.  And while Trump might be quite willing to negotiate, people don't feel the same as with Pence and the people he's appointed so far.  The first 100 days will be interesting...

Bannon so far is a terrible choice. Baggage to the n'th degree. Plenty of other people to choose from all as conservative as Bannon so why go with an anti-Semite? Got me on that one.

All things said, I'll back any HRC supporter who wants Bannon out, providing they've got documentable evidence they've also boycotted 99% of all rappers whose lyrics are as bad as anything Bannon has reportedly said. Can't have it both ways and still claim to be true to any sort of principals.

Rappers are not public officials. There is absolutely no equivalency to this.

What do people know about this Steve Bannon guy, who was head of Breitbart News and is now Trump's Chief Policy Advisor?  Is he really a white supremacist?

Is there reason for concern for a non-white Republican male like myself?  Or is this just a bunch of nonsense being stirred up by the Dems?
I'm having a hard time finding much about him.  The "White Supremacist" label seems to be yet another exaggerated attack.  The only stuff I've found is very biased opinions.

Does anyone have any evidence backing the claims?  I genuinely am curious about this.

Is that really true?  All of Trumps kids married Jewish.  Ivanka converted to Judaism.  A lot of the top people in his company are Jewish.  I seriously doubt he would bring in an anti-semite.

Let's give Trump a chance. Obama has done nothing about the out of control crime happening in the US.

Violent crime has been at a steady decline and murder rate is about half of what it was under Reagan.

I disagree with you peppy. Violent crimes has risen.

"The 316 homicides reported by the Chicago Police Department were by far the most of any law enforcement agency included in the survey, a 48% increase over last year. The Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department said there were 110 homicides so far this year, compared to 85 in 2015. San Jose's 25 homicides more than doubled the amount during the same period last year."
http://www.cnn.com/2016/07/25/politics/violent-crime-report-us-cities-homicides-rapes/

I'm just comparing 2016 vs 2015. Note the article was from July 2016, for sure there were more homicides since then.

I'm not comparing it to Raegan years like Obama did in the article.

You are comparing against a year that has seen some of the lowest rates in the last 40 years. If you are limiting your observation to just 2015 and forward then it may seem out of control to you. That's like saying weather is out of control because it was cold in the morning and hot in the afternoon.

He's not done enough to stop the rioting going on all over the US right now.  And where is Hillary?  She is showing lack of leadership by not doing much to stop the riots.

I hear about that crap all the time around all my very liberal co-workers.  There's a lot of brainwashing going on in this country.

I am not a fan of dishonest and biased opinions.  I like to see evidence.

Do you have any substantial proof he is a white supremacist or anti-semite?  Why is it okay to dilute all these labels?

What does Wiki say about Alt-Right:
'Alt-right' is a recently coined umbrella term, with no clear criteria of membership yet agreed upon. The movement has been associated with multiple ideologies from American nationalism, neo-monarchists to men's rights advocates and people who oppose mainstream conservatism

At this point this has nothing to do with HRC. The protests are against Trump and how his election is normalizing intolerance. Rioting is something that needs to be addressed at the local level and people are getting arrested in the hundreds over it. In most cases it's people marching with few incidences of violence. Protesting grievances with your elected officials is an exercise of our constitutional rights. There's no business for the federal government to step in at this point.

Obama has been quite hopeful about Trump and rather optimistic - so much so that there is criticism from the left about how he should be denouncing him instead.

Not wanting his daughter to attend a particular school because there are too many Jews is considered textbook anti Semitic.

He may not have explicitly written about white supremacism but he has provided the launch pad for the white ethno-nationalist movement and alt-right movement to broadcast their philosophies. Even people who were very fond of Andrew Breitbart found that he took Breitbart in the wrong direction under his leadership.

So all the white flight people leaving Irvine are racist too?

If the sole reason for leaving is because they are uncomfortable by the presence of a particular race, then yes.
