President Trump

NEW -> Contingent Buyer Assistance Program
In fact, in the British litigation, which involves a post-election dossier memorandum, Mr. Steele admitted that he received and included in it unsolicited--and unverified--allegations. That filing implies that he similarly received unsolicited intelligence on these matters prior to the election as well, stating that Mr. Steele "continued to receive unsolicited intelligence on the matters covered by the pre-election memoranda after the US Presidential election."

The FBI repeatedly represented to the court that Mr. Steele told the FBI he did not have unauthorized contacts with the press about the dossier prior to October 2016.

Thus, the FISA applications are either materially false in claiming that Mr. Steele said he did not provide dossier information to the press prior to October 2016, or Mr. Steele made materially false statements to the FBI when he claimed he only provided the dossier information to his business partner and the FBI.

In this case, Mr. Steele's apparent deception seems to have posed significant material consequences on the FBI's investigative decisions and representations to the court. Mr. Steele's information formed a significant portion of the FBI's warrant application, and the FISA application relied more heavily on Steele's credibility than on any independent verification of corroboration for his claims. Thus the basis for the warrant authorizing surveillance on a U.S. citizens rests largely on Mr. Steele's credibility. The Department of Justice has a responsibility to determine whether Mr. Steele provided false information to the FBI and whether the FBI's representations to the court were in error.

Accordingly, we are referring Christopher Steele to the Department of Justice for investigation of potential violation(s) of 18 U.S.C. 1001.
https://www.judiciary.senate.gov/im...BI (Unclassified Steele Referral).pdf[/quote]

  • Steele lied to the FBI and needs to be prosecuted
  • The FBI is complicit in misrepresenting information on the FISA applications

Pick one.

Last month 91% of republicans had "great deal" or " some" confidence in country's law enforcement agencies

Today, 73% agree that FBI and DOJ are working together to delegitimize Trump
https://www.reuters.com/article/us-...timize-trump-reuters-ipsos-poll-idUSKBN1FP2UH

If there were still any doubts that this is now a full blown cult ...

It's possible to have "some" confidence in the country's law enforcement agencies and agree that the FBI/DOJ were working together to delegitimize Trump.  These are not mutually exclusive points of view.

I have great confidence in the FBI and DOJ. The vast majority are, IMO, dedicated to their profession and service.

Trump's mistake, and political circus show is branding the entire organizations instead of clearly identifying the appointees in question and small cadre of idealogues involved.

Trump and Repubulicans like Nunes are no better than Black Lives Matter in the way they are targeting feferal law enforcement. They're making the entire agency sound corrupt and if I were a criminal charged with a federal crime, I would be using that as my defense.

FBI lovers' latest text messages: Obama 'wants to know everything'

Newly revealed text messages between FBI paramours Peter Strzok and Lisa Page include an exchange about preparing talking points for then-FBI Director James Comey to give to President Obama, who wanted ?to know everything we?re doing."

The message, from Page to Strzok, was among thousands of texts between the lovers reviewed by Fox News. The pair both worked at one point for Special Counsel Robert Mueller's probe of alleged collusion between the Trump campaign and Russia.

Page wrote to Strzok on Sept. 2, 2016, about prepping Comey because "potus wants to know everything we're doing." According to a newly released Senate report, this text raises questions about Obama's personal involvement in the Clinton email investigation.

On Election Day 2016, Page wrote, "OMG THIS IS F***ING TERRIFYING." Strzok replied, "Omg, I am so depressed." Later that month, on Nov. 13, 2016, Page wrote, "I bought all the president's men. Figure I need to brush up on watergate."

The next day, Nov. 14, 2016, Page wrote, ?God, being here makes me angry. Lots of high fallutin? national security talk. Meanwhile we have OUR task ahead of us.?

Page?s meaning here is unclear, but according to the Senate report, coupled with Strzok?s Aug. 15 text about an ?insurance policy,? further investigation is warranted to find out what actions the two may have taken.

LOL Fox News.

The POTUS should not want to know what they are doing?  Didn't the conservatives blame Obama for not doing enough?

More winning!

Democrats won an exurban St. Louis seat in the Missouri state House of Representatives on Tuesday, racking up another victory in a district carried easily by President Trump in the 2016 election.

Voters in Jefferson County appeared to choose Mike Revis, a 27-year old Democrat, to fill a seat left vacant when the incumbent quit to run for county executive. With all 10 precincts within the district reporting, Revis led Republican David Linton by 108 votes, or about 3 percentage points.

If Revis's lead holds, it would mark a significant swing from 2016, when Trump won the district by a 61 percent to 33 percent margin.

Obama: I 'guarantee' Justice Dept. won?t protect Hillary

?I do not talk to the Attorney General about pending investigations. I do not talk to FBI directors about pending investigations,? Obama said. ?I guarantee that there is no political influence in any investigation conducted by the Justice Department, or the FBI, not just in this case, but in any case.?

The FBI has an ?active, ongoing investigation? into the private email account and server Clinton used as secretary of state. But many Republicans have contended that the Justice Department would not prosecute Clinton even if it found she broke the law.

Wallace pressed Obama on the point, asking if she could be prosecuted ?even if she ends up as the Democratic nominee?"

?How many times do I have to say it, Chris? Guaranteed,? Obama responded.

I'm no expert, but today the Washington Post is also saying the midterms are not a slam dunk:

Taking back the House will be harder than Democrats think

Already, Democratic strategists are getting a little jumpy about the party?s shrinking advantage in the polls, especially the closely watched generic-ballot test, where voters are asked which party they would prefer to represent them in Congress.

The spread is running at 6.5 percentage points in the RealClearPolitics average ? just half where it was at the beginning of the year. It shows an electorate still inclined to vote Democratic but probably not by enough to flip the House.

1)  FBI is not the Justice Department

2)  How exactly does Obama wanting to know what the FBI was doing on the investigation of Clinton email indicate protections of any sort?

An ad hominem doesn't require personal distress.  It simply requires attacking the credibility of the person / entity rather than debating the report itself.

1) The FBI is part of the Justice Department, so four pinocchios for you.

2) He lied when he said he doesn't discuss ongoing investigations with DOJ/FBI.  It matters because he can influence the outcome just by asking and it's a conflict of interest because the illegal State Dept server was part of his administration.  He e-mailed her on that server, so he couldn't deny knowing about it either if that got out (which it did eventually).

From the FiveThirtyEight blog:

What Happened To The Democratic Wave?
nate silver: Yeah, the thing is we?re in the range where there?s large marginal impact. If Democrats went from +5 on the generic ballot to +2, it wouldn?t matter much. But +9 is a pretty different number than +6.

micah: Right. I?ll say this, and this is one reason I do think Democrats should be concerned: The last month or so has shown that if Trump tones it down and Republicans get a few good breaks, then the Democratic advantage will shrink ? shrink enough so that (even in a midterm year against a president of the opposite party) taking back the House (let alone the Senate) will be a challenge.

That?s the thing, really: Because of self-sorting/gerrymandering and the bad Senate map, a +6 Democratic advantage on the generic ballot isn?t great.

nate silver: A +6 would make Democrats heavy underdogs in the Senate and slight underdogs in the House.

micah: Right.

THE CLINTON EMAIL SCANDAL AND THE FBI?S INVESTIGATION OF IT
An Interim Report

18. On May 19, 2017, two days after Robert Mueller was appointed Special Counsel, Strzok and Page discussed the staffing of the Special Counsel investigation. Strzok wrote, ?For me, and this case, I personally have a sense of unfinished business. I unleashed it with MYE. Now I need to fix it and finish it.? He appears to be referring to the upcoming inquiry when he later wrote ?[a]n investigation leading to impeachment?? These text messages raise questions about whether a personal animus may have been a consideration prompting Strzok to join Special Counsel Mueller?s investigation.

III. Conclusion

We should all recognize the harm done to our rule of law when crimes go unpunished because government officials look the other way for the wealthy, famous, or powerful. Americans rightly expect a single and impartial system of justice for all, not one for the well-connected and a separate one for everyone else.

The information available to the Committee at this time raises serious questions about how the FBI applied the rule of law in its investigation of classified information on Secretary Clinton?s private email server. We know that:

? The FBI did not use a grand jury to compel testimony and obtain the vast majority of evidence, choosing instead to offer immunity deals and allow fact witnesses to join key interviews.

? There were substantial edits to Director Comey?s public statement that served to downplay the severity of Secretary Clinton?s actions, and that the first draft of the memo was distributed for editing two months before key witnesses were interviewed.

? Director Comey stated that he had not consulted with the Justice Department or White House, when text messages suggest otherwise. We have text messages in which two key investigators discuss an ?insurance policy? against the ?risk? of a Trump presidency, and ?OUR task.?

? Messages discuss ?unfinished business,? ?an investigation leading to impeachment,? and ?my gut sense and concern there?s no big there there.?

? Senior FBI officials?likely including Deputy Director McCabe? knew about newly discovered emails on a laptop belonging to AnthonyWeiner for almost a month before Director Comey notified Congress.

? Over the period of at least four months, the FBI did not recover five months? worth of text messages requested by DOJ OIG and two Senate committees; however, when pressed, DOJ OIG was able to recover missing texts in less than one week.

Taken together, this information warrants further inquiry. While some may discount the investigation for political reasons, we all have a great interest in ensuring the public has confidence in the integrity and independence of the FBI, the preeminent law enforcement agency in the world. Unlike prosecutors or inspectors general, the primary goal of congressional oversight is full transparency in order to promote public awareness and confidence in federal agencies. For these reasons, our important work will continue.

Thing is -- there is pages and pages of bad headlines on trump and gop that we can throw in here and the thread will be overflowing .  there is so many ,its hard to even keep track of ( just today there is Kelly's racist comment, the white house aide accused to domestic violence, and a few others)

but the right latches on to straws  (like these so-called Obama "gotcha" texts taken totally  out of context ) because that is the only way to continue  feeling good about your choice to follow your leader .  even if it gets discredited eventually (like w the Nunes dud memo), there is enough noise made by Hannity on cable, Russia bots on twitter and your septuagenarian uncles on facebook , that it creates a chaos where facts stop being of consequence .

I bet all these polling dips and bounces for Trump approval come entirely from GOPers who decide week by week on how much to like him.  His numbers with independents are still stuck at the bottom, where they have been for ages.

I'll bet most voters have decided that virtually all politicians are corrupt or will be some day. Those that aren't haven't been caught.

They are all flip floppers and all this noise over he said, she said, is just noise and every day less people care.

Show me the money.

BTW......... nice profit in a buying one day and selling the next.

Texts From 2016 Show FBI Employees Preparing Obama Briefing on Russia

Exchange doesn?t relate to Clinton email probe, as a Republican senator suggests

Feb. 7, 2018 3:50 p.m. ET

Text messages from 2016 show preparation to brief Barack Obama about Russia?s interference in that year?s election, according to associates of the FBI employees involved in the exchange, not, as a Republican senator suggested, meddling by the then-president in the federal Hillary Clinton email investigation.

I was wondering if that was the case because the text in question occurred on Sept 2, 2016 after the Hillary probe had already been closed, and prior to it being reopened.  At that point, the FBI was more focused on finding a way to get wiretap approval on Trump's campaign staff.

So you admit they were all corrupt before Trump? LOL!

Corrupt is corrupt. There is no normal corrupt.

It's like cheating on your taxes. Is it ok to a certain point? No it isn't but maybe you're ok with a normal cheating level.

Or is it ok to have a little affair? Would you want your wife being a little cheater as long as it wasn't too much? Maybe if she cheated and no one else knew it would be ok? LOL!

What is really bothering you is that he may or may not be certifiably crazy but in any case he's getting away with it because people are giving him a pass saying it's "Trump being Trump" and the reason he gets that is we are just beyond caring what the press or anyone else has to say about politics. Both sides are out for themselves and far apart. We only care about our jobs, family and pocketbook. Anything else is just noise and we D O  N O T    C A R E and I don't read anything but headlines and forget them as fast as I read them no matter which side they come from.
