I'll bring it in this week to add a chrome exhaust, spoiler, etc.
Don't forget the spinners and neon under lights.

I did name-drop by requesting the "IHO Hooptie Package" with hydraulics, etc. but they looked at me strange when I mentioned a flame paint job. No can do. So, I had to go with this as Plan B.

In all seriousness, I think I'm going to have HID headlights installed. Honda sells these cars with projector headlights everywhere BUT the U.S. I'm going to have to get creative because it's not an accessory. Since mine is the newly restyled model, there are no aftermarket parts. Pretty sure I'll go for it.

Let the CRV modding begin  :D

Congratulations and enjoy your new ride!

Here's a great source to help  you get started:http://www.theretrofitsource.com

Okay... although this is a "new" car thread... since the X5 and the MDX hasn't changed much in the past few years, would it be better to just buy used models of either?

BTW: If it were my car... I would get a Hyundai or Kia (if only they made minivans)... but it's the Mrs. and although she says she could drive a "value" brand... last time we went car shopping... it wasn't the "value" brand that won.

Kia has a minivan in their lineup:

I personally don't like it though.

Getting my Avalon tinted tomorrow over at Mike's in Orange.. bought a Groupon.. hopefully it turns out well.. yelp reviews decent, some mention of upsell but I'll try to say strong.  Looking for tint in the 35% range.. I had limo 5% once in my old civic, really hard to see backing up at night.

Anyone have trouble with Irvine PD pulling you over for tint on the front side windows?  On Mike's site, he says CA law allows tint on the front side but only if it allows 85% of the light in.. How would an officer determine that if you got pulled over?

Even for a layperson, the difference between 35% vs 85% is pretty dramatic. You might want to consider installing Diamond Cut IR tint or photochromic tint for that OEM look:http://www.m3post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=302487

That sounds expensive, probably not for my bland Avalon.

I got the 50% metal 50% dye for $100 more, total was $200 otd.  Car stunk like a sweaty guy was hanging out in my backseat for 3 hours :)

Now I feel paranoid driving around Irvine for having my front side windows tinted.  At least I have my front license plate up.

Can't believe I'm going to say this but the genesis looks pretty nice.

I saw one on the road today... I was like.. you know what.. it's not that bad I would drive it.  Then I thought about Panda and I said ahh hell naw!

I leased the first generation Genesis and was happy except for the suspension. Way too jittery. This 2nd generation Genesis looks even better and I'm sure  the consulting performed by Lotus for steering/suspension will correct the errors of the past.

'14 Avalon Hybrid can be had with 0% APR and $1000 cash back (standard deal?).  Gets about 40mpg, I do mostly stop and go driving.  Not in my normal cycle to buy a new car since my current car is only 2.5 years.  The savings in gas mileage is nice, will probably cut my fuel costs in half to around $75/month.

One of few hybrid full size sedans on the market.  Only other competitor in this price range is the Buick LaCrosse, and the gas mileage is not as good.

Good choice.

The Avalon is essentially the value oriented version of Lexus ES.  The interior space, especially the rear legroom is quite impressive, close to the legroom of Mercedes S class and BMW 7 series.  The hybrid version's gas mileage is unbelievable, not many car and especially at this size category,  came close to it.

Truecar's graph shows price going in the right direction.  Probably due to '15 coming out soon.  Gonna go for a test drive this weekend.

Anyone know if the $1000 cash back promo is new for Avalon or the same 'special' every month?

Apologies in advance if you get stuck behind an Avalon going 29 mph on Culver :)

Avalon is nice, but you should live a little, pick a car with some sex appeal and some "take my breath away" factors.

You should have pick a Sienna.  With those sexy double automatic sliding doors. those are real chick housewife  magnet. :)
