Yeah congrats, looks like the M3 will be replaced by a minivan in near future.  :P

Went to look at the X6M today... Didn't know it was only a 4 seater :(.  Test drove the range rover evoque too, what a disappointment..

The van IHO posted is starting to look pretty good!  :-\

It's not just pretty good... it is the best minivan out there (although some would argue the Honda is just as good). I like it because of the SE profiling.

The only thing is because it's an SE and has better handling I drive it more like a car and that just chews up the rubber. I think I have to replace the tires soon.

Don't forget the Tesla Model X if you can wait until 2014 for the new car.

He is on a 9 month deadline  ;)

As for the X6M--it does offer an OPTIONAL 3 seats in the back for $350.http://www.bmwusa.com/standard/content/byo/byohome.aspx?namodelcode=13XN

IMHO, I would skip the X6M and get something more practical for daily driving the family. The X6 doesn't have much storage space and you have a cramped backseat  versus other SUVs.  If you want your cake and eat it too...maybe try the X5M or Cayenne S/Turbo. The other route is to get a more basic suv/minivan/family car and use the extra money for a small/impractical/2 door mid life crisis true sports car as well  :)

I like the Cayenne but my neighbor has the exact color and trim I want...

I also test drove the Sequoia and all I could say was WOW! That thing is a beast!

My vote is for the Cayenne Turbo...white with black interior.  :D

I'm not made of Gold >:( lol.

Hbout the Jag XJ with extended wheelbase to make taking the carseat in/out easier.  Saw a white one yesterday, looks nice.  A minivan right now might be overkill, maybe when the second one comes along.  At least get something big so the carseat goes in the middle and still have room for ur wife to sit next to the baby.  Carseats are safest in the middle.

Thanks PS9!

I'm thinking a midsized SUV like a Highlander Hybrid, Pilot or a MDX would work.  Since we are looking at another home in Irvine at the moment a pricey baby hauler wouldn't be wise.

Yep JLIN!! How was ball Saturday? Did B4L show up?
Yeah... B4L was there but we were on opposing teams and they beat us.

I quit after that as both my feet hurt really bad... one of the guys said he knew what was wrong... "they are carrying too much weight". Boy... they know me too well over there.

Bonus big IHO story:

I took the kids to a pool yesterday for Mother's Day. I was trying to be cool because I was teaching my eldest to dive so I attempted a flip into pool... well... all of IHO didn't quite make the rotation and I ended up landing on my back rather than feet. Once I surfaced... my wife looked at me and said something like "It's no so easy to get all that weight flipped over any more is it?" I gave her an excuse that it was my sore feet so I couldn't jump as high as I wanted to (but inside I knew what she was saying had some truth to it).

Geez, Iho. How much you weigh... three bucks?

I once had a friend who was very overweight (or so he thought, anyway). When he was in the 200's, he felt "meh". However, he said the day he got on the scale and it read: 300, he cried. Something about seeing that "3" in front made it more of an impact. Have you reached that point yet?

Since this is a car thread, I read an article the other day that said car manufacturers are having to provide more powerful braking and other things to accommodate the bigger people of today. The loaded car weighs more, it's harder to stop.
