It may be a bit small though.

ohhhh, i like the tesla X. thanks woodburydad!

You can put down a $5,000 fully refundable deposit to secure your spot.  I'm intrigued enough to do that to keep this a possibility.

How about this one--should be priced similar to a BMW 3 series. A baby Karma--called Atlantic by Fisker Automotive. A hybrid electric vehicle. It was just announced at the NY Auto show:http://www.autoblog.com/2012/04/03/fisker-atlantic-new-york-2012/

Actually priced to be similar to the Audi A5 and BMW 5-series. You can also already put in your $5000 fully refundable deposit on Fisker's website if you want. In all honesty, if everything goes as planned, the Atlantic will be my next car.

Not bad, but the wheels gotta go and is it me or does the grill look like a mustache?

I've never taken notice of a car's grille in my life but now that you mention it - that isn't just any old mustache. That is quite a handlebar mustache it has going on.

Anywho. Not many convertible fans on here, I see, but I think I'm going to go test drive the Lexus IS C convertible with the three-piece automatic hardtop. This way, I can have my midlife crisis vehicle while still having room in the back for school pick-ups. It's the most practical out of the few similar selections out there on the market. I've promised not to buy it in a girly color so the mister can drive it without shame, too. I like that it comes in a manual transmission.

Not a bad looking convertible.  Silver or black would be the colors to keep it as manly as possible and more importantly maintain the resale value.

Oooh, good point. I currently drive black and have swore I will never do it again. They just get way too hot inside in this climate. So, I was thinking of going white this time to reflect the heat but that might be too girly. I think silver would be the way to go, however, I heard that metallic paints oxidize more quickly than others which makes me hesitant. Is it true?

You could compromise with Mr. Socal : get a manly color and mark it up with a "Hello Kitty" set of stickers.

It kills me to see beautiful cars marred by cosmetic personalization. Case in point--everyone in SoCal loves to put Christmas decorations on their SUVs/MiniVans during the holidays. This one dude clipped reindeer antlers to the top of his side windows on his gorgeous white Audi S5 coupe. ???  Total fail in my book. (Come to think of it, maybe it was his wife/girlfriend's car).

Just kidding. Any guy with a daughter knows this could easily happen to you (which is one benefit of PStar moving out of Irvine... if my daughter saw his car... guess who would be next?).

They are on both our cars.  I can't leave home without kitty on my left shoulder.  You have no idea how many people (usually cute girls) ask where we got those.  It's like bringing a cute puppy to the park.  I love those stickers.

you should just carry some spare sets of those stickers in the trunk for when the cute girls ask  ;)

Here's a compelling reason to hold out for a 2013 Honda.
Terii, the anti-theft negotiator.

Is it just me or am I seeing waaay more Hyundais in Irvine?

I think PS9 should have got an EQUUS.

If Hyundai ever re-releases a minivan with their new "Storm Edge" styling... I might consider it.

Fisker Karma Burns Down Househttp://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/art...0-electric-car-burnt-newly-build-mansion.html

"A luxury electric car is claimed to be the source of a fire which engulfed the owner?s new mansion causing hundreds of thousands dollars? worth of damage... More than 200 Karmas were recalled at the end of 2011 after workers discovered a potential coolant leak in battery packs which could lead to electrical shorts, according to the company?s website."

The car was not plugged in when it burst into flames.

Just a question for the parents on TI.  With one child, is it really neccessary or is it more of a convenience to have a larger vehicle?  For those who had a sedan instead of a SUV or vice versa, what are the pros and cons of each with a baby?

we have a camry, rx350 and 1 17 month old.  its 10x easier with the SUV for day to day stuff.  the biggest benefits are getting her in and out without bending a ton and having a lot of room to work with.  sometimes she wants out of the car seat as soon as we park but we arent ready to leave the car.  she can stand comfortable in front of her seat and play with her toys

the next biggest benefit is stroller.  it easily fits in the camry but i have to put it in at an angle and if i put stuff in front of it, i have to move that before getting it out.  in the suv, i just throw it in there and can lift it above stuff in the back.

other small benefits include being able to change her diaper in the back..its a flat big surface and was easy to work with
