Crazy people are more entertaining to interact with. I'd much rather argue with people who believe the earth is flat, the moon landing was fake, and Elvis is alive than discuss health care and climate change with a policy nerd.

the funny thing is that the media and others focus on the number of "lies" trump says, but don't understand why he does it.  he stretches the truth a little bit or says something a little outrageous because it generates wall-to-wall media coverage.  the irony is that it's written right there in the art of the deal.

i.e. trump says he brought about the largest tax cuts in history - media takes the bait and comes out and says trump didn't have the largest tax cut, his plan does x, y, and, z, but it wasn't the largest tax cut.  guess what, all media outlets just spent 15 minutes with a panel of 4 talking about trump's tax cuts.

the media will do this every time trump says something.  gotta do a fact check! "checkmate trump, you lied!  oops, we just gave trump another 15 minute spot highlighting something he did"

That?s an interesting point. Are there ?crazies? in the Democratic base? Who are their extremists and how extreme are they? Do they have their own ridiculous conspiracy theories? Do they believe in patently false things?

I know the base would like to grow government attempting to solve problems, doing so by raising taxes dramatically, but they?re honest about this for the most part, no? They?re always hesitant to talk about the costs, who will pay for it, and the potential externalities, if they?re willing to discuss these issues at all.

Does anyone know of crazy left "news" sites?
 
I prefer Twitter as my primary Social Media outlet. I try to maintain a 50/50 follower split between the two sides, but that's tougher to do nowadays.

Those on the "hard right" - AKA "Crazies" often re-tweet links right leaning news links from InfoWars, Breitbart, True Pundit, Daily Wire, Fox, various English news sites, Cernovich, and Drudge.

Those on the "hard left" - AKA "Crazies" often re-tweet left leaning news links from MSNBC, Daily KOS, Slate, The Intercept, Huffington Post, NPR, Salon, and the New York Times.

In either a right or left wing news case, unless the data is "original reporting" most sites are simply aggregators of articles with accompanied commentary on the article.

If you refuse to listen to both sides, you're really missing out. You may not agree with what's being said, but at least you have a wider perspective on issues. I'm not saying that everyone needs to read The Daily Stormer, but treating Fox or MSNBC as equal to a Nazi agitprop rag is lazy thinking.

Measure the level of absurdity of those hard left and hard right sources. On a scale of 1-10, 1 being informed educated news and opinions from a certain political perspective, and 10 being complete nonsense with no basis in reality.

Hannity and Lou Dobbs are close to 10s, while Huffington Post is closer to 1.

For the record, I read The Economist.

So if you don?t like the high fuel standard. You should sell your car. Then get an old junker with bad mileage.


 
My point is, set the standards at attainable levels and there will be no cheating.  All these auto companies made a calculus that in order to sell any cars they had to find a way around the standards. Cmon , did you ever believe there really was a clean burning Diesel engine? That?s a fantasy. I drive a 1985 Ford Bronco.
