This is why I have been saying (and yet again adding to the post count of this thread) , that this discussion maybe going nowhere until we actually get the results of the midterm to burst the bubble trumpeters find themselves in right now . Just like majority of the Fox News watchers , they live in an alternate  reality .

Roseanne Barr just scored the highest rated sitcom in 4 years by creating the first pro-Trump character on network television.

Can you imagine how many more shows/movies just got greenlit to target the pro-Trump audience?  Pretty soon it will be everywhere.

The premiere was great.  People voted for Trump because he talks and acts like a normal person (unscripted).  That's relatable.  When half the country finally finds someone on TV that they can relate to and portrays an actual Trump supporter (and not as a racist, homophobic, deplorable as the media would lead you to believe), it's no wonder it garnered such high ratings.

Perfect for the broadcast TV audience.

More MAGA friendly television is about to hit the airwaves...

Roseanne's Success Spurred Last Man Standing Revival

Fox executives are confident they made the right call in bringing back Tim Allen's comedy Last Man Standing.

In a conference call with reporters Monday morning, Fox Television Chairmen and CEOs Gary Newman and Dana Walden said they had been trying to find a place on their schedule for the multi-camera sitcom since it was canceled by ABC last year, and the success of ABC's Roseanne reboot convinced them that there was no time like the present to do so.

"We were emboldened more by the success of Roseanne," Walden said. "Everyone took a good hard look at the performance of Roseanne. It did so well and it certainly did remind us that we have a huge, iconic comedy star in our Fox family.

Trump is more popular than Dems want to admit

It?s time for the Democrats to stop bashing President Trump.

It?s not going to be easy, given his policies and personality. It might even mean checking into a 12-step program. But setting a winning agenda is like maneuvering an aircraft carrier. It takes time to change course. And if they want to be on target for the November midterm elections, the Democrats need to start changing course now.

President Trump?s policies remain popular with many Americans, which means Democrats need to find a campaign strategy beyond just bashing him. Trump is more popular than Dems want to admit
Like it or not, a significant number of Americans are actually happy these days. They are making money. They feel safe, and they agree with with the president?s protectionist trade policies, his call for more American jobs, even his immigration stance.

The jobs growth reports, the North Korea summit and the steady economy are beating out the Stormy Daniels scandal and the Robert Mueller investigation in Middle America, hands down.

So you are not going to win back the House by making it all about him.

Rather than stoking the base by attacking Trump, Democrats need to come up with a platform that addresses the average voters? hopes and concerns. Not just the needs of underdogs or whatever cause happens to be the media flavor of the week.

Democrats need to look like the adults, not like another pack of screaming kids on the playground.

And they need to start now.

I've seen a lot of articles lately begging Democrats to focus on the issues.  The problem is they have an opponent who is already laser-focused on the issues, and winning at everything he touches.  So Dems can no longer attack Trump on the economy or foreign policy.

Their only hope is to differentiate from Trump somehow, but how do they do that?  We've seen many Dems decide that doubling down on identity politics and socialism/Marxism will be their key to victory.  If Crazy Bernie and Kamala Harris are the new thought leaders of the Democrat party, then Dems are in major trouble.  Voters are no longer angry and looking for a radical change the way they were prior to Trump's election.  That ship has sailed.

So really, even though attacking Trump is still a losing proposition, it's really all they've got.  They need to hope Trump slips up somehow, and seize that opening if it ever comes.  The problem is Trump has gotten a lot better about not committing unforced errors during his first year in office.  It's a longshot that Trump gives them any kind of opening to exploit prior to the election.

Remember when Democrats switched from calling Trump the next Hitler to simply calling him incompetent and highly unqualified?  Now they can't even claim that.

TL;DR

It sucks to be a Democrat.

Stormy is now caught up in her own #MeToo scandal...

Tasha Reign: I Was Assaulted on a Stormy Daniels Porn Set. And She Did Nothing.
Reign says she has a ?horrible story? to tell me about herself and Daniels.

?I was sexually assaulted by one of her crewmembers. He groped and grabbed me from behind,? she says, wiping away tears. ?I spoke up immediately because I was in the moment, and I was so proud of myself. She was the director that day, I went straight to her and straight to the man that did it, we had a conversation about it, I went to the owner of Wicked Pictures, I did all the right things. And she did not handle the situation appropriately, respectfully or professionally. So it?s a little bit outrageous when I hear her say things about how she is standing up for women and wants to be a voice for other women to be able to come forward when I was assaulted on her set and she didn?t give me any care or attention, and didn?t even send that man home.?

So what about John McCain?

I don't know. Is he still alive?

Yeah he is. Your response right there shows what type of person you are. (It really does) it really shows
Just like the White House

It really shows

I did a trump and repeated myself.  ;)

How did the world find about the White House staffers comment? The White House staff members can?t keep quiet.

Sorry it?s a joke. A person can say, it?s worst than a third world country government.

It was a just a joke referencing the leaked comment from the White House.  Personally, I wouldn't joke about somebody's illness like that, and I don't see any reason to celebrate even your worst enemy going through such a hard thing.  All of us will meet our end one day, and many of us will suffer through terrible diseases before we go.

All that being said, I think McCain's death could save the lives of hundreds, thousands, or even millions of people.  He has never seen a war he didn't want to start, and 1 million Iraqi's are dead just from that one vote of his alone.

Hypothetical
If a CEO of a public company kept on repeating themselves they would probably be removed by the board of directors.

What happened to your bond bubble btw - it burst yet ;)

Maybe the midterm elections will burst it !

This may be in motion now.  I posted a piece on another thread about the muted reaction to a strong economy by the bond markets may be traced partially to the total lack of experience  by current managers to a rising interest rate cycle, they simply have never had to deal with one and are a bit like a deer in headlights.  The reaction could be violent.

House Ratings Changes: GOP Fortunes Improve in Four Districts

After a rough start to year, House Republicans are suddenly feeling less pessimistic about their fall prospects. At the "macro" level, robust economic data and positive developments on the Korean peninsula have helped lift President Trump's approval rating to 42 percent , his best mark in over a year. Concurrently, Democrats' lead over Republicans on FiveThirtyEight's generic congressional ballot average has ebbed from 12 points in January to just five points today.

Oh My: GOP Surges to 2018 Generic Ballot Lead in New Reuters Poll
The GOP is up six points in this series.  Color me a bit skeptical, and these numbers will bounce around regardless, but Republicans haven't led on this question in any major in roughly two years, so it's worth flagging.  What explains this see-saw back toward Republicans?  As someone once said, it's the economy, stupid

Here is a link to the weekly poll in graphic form:
http://polling.reuters.com/#!respon.../PD1:1/dates/20170601-20180523/collapsed/true

Week ending May 13th-

Republicans ~ 40.7%
Democrats ~ 34.5%

Meh. In these days of 90% certainty of HRC's coronation election, polls just don't mean anything anymore.

I'm still in the camp that says Muller will wrap up the investigation in September with zero evidence, but still poison the well by calling President Cheeto an "unindicted co-conspirator" as they did with Nixon. The D's will win enough to split or take the house, and we'll have 2 more years of this nonsense to suffer through.

I do so love the ROOOSIA DID IT crowd talking about how Muller got 23 indictments and 5 convictions. They weirdly omit than most of the indictments are of foreign nationals who will never be prosecuted, and any convictions so far have been for misleading the FBI or things that occurred prior to the election. Zip a dee doo dah on the big fat nothingburger we've been told was (thankfully) why HRC isn't our current president.
