Btw - people in the Midwest are pissed off. China has completely stop buying soy beans from the US.

LOL... The first line of your article:  "Soybean prices slipped 0.61% Thursday morning."

Yep, I bet those MidWesterners are just fuming. ::)

Soybeans are like real estate. The Chinese buy it.  :)

Yep, and prices are way up since Trump was elected president:

I'm sure MidWesterners are super pissed at these annual price increases.  "Stop making me richer!!"

In fact, they are so pissed that since your article published a few hours ago soybean prices are now UP for the day.  Doh!  LOL...

I'm looking forward to summer, vacation, beaches, bbq, blissfully ignoring the news for weeks on end.

I'm also looking forward to Nov.  7th.

Unless of course, something is close and we tie ourselves in knots interpreting stray pen marks on the mail in ballots.

Expand your horizon beyond the right wing blogs ? you will learn more and also learn to post proper comebacks

Thanks to @kaos I can embed a Seinfeld link for your enjoyment

Reuters is not a right-wing polling company!!  Doh!
-----------------------------------------------
https://mediabiasfactcheck.com/reuters/

LEAST BIASED

These sources have minimal bias and use very few loaded words (wording that attempts to influence an audience by using appeal to emotion or stereotypes).  The reporting is factual and usually sourced.  These are the most credible media sources. See all Least Biases sources.

Factual Reporting: VERY HIGH

Notes: A highly reputable news reporting service. Reuters has a policy of taking a ?value-neutral approach.?  Reuters? editorial policy states: ?We are committed to reporting the facts and in all situations avoid the use of emotive terms. The only exception is when we are quoting someone directly or in indirect speech.? Reuters does not offer opinion and just reports news. (7/10/2016)
-----------------------------------------------

Not only that, but Nate Silver rates all pollsters and gives Reuters/Ipsos an A- with only the slightest of bias towards Democrats.

Launching ad hominems against the news source doesn't change the underlying story.  It was the first source that I noticed reporting the story, but Google News has many outlets reporting on it.

RED WAVE? Poll Shows Republicans Could Pick Up 9 Senate Seats

According to new Morning Consult polls, Democrats are in serious trouble in Senate races across the country. Republicans have serious leads in West Virginia, where incumbent Democrat Joe Manchin trails by 14 points; North Dakota, where incumbent Democrat Heidi Heitkamp trails by 8; Indiana, where incumbent Democrat Joe Donnelly trails by 5; Missouri, where incumbent Democrat Claire McCaskill trails by 5; Montana, where incumbent Democrat Jon Tester trails by 5; Florida, where incumbent Democrat Bill Nelson is locked in a near-deadlock with Rick Scott; and Pennsylvania and Ohio, where incumbent Democrats Bill Casey and Sherrod Brown are leading by less than two points each, plus Virginia, where Tim Kaine leads by just 3 on the generic ballot. In the best-case scenario for Republicans, then, they could win up to nine additional Senate seats.

McCain has said this will be his last term, which I don't think anybody is surprised about.  His seat is expected to remain Republican, but it could go to a conservative/MAGA friendly candidate as well.

Move over Trump. The GOP has a new rising star. (or maybe not) West Virginia's Don Blankenship Says He's 'Trumpier Than Trump.'
https://youtu.be/laO0JULtxSc

West Virginia GOP Senate hopeful Don Blankenship is amping up his racial attacks on Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell with a new ad declaring, ?Swamp captain Mitch McConnell has created millions of jobs for China people.?

During a recent interview with POLITICO, Blankenship said McConnell ?has a lot of connections in China.? He also said that Chao is ?from China, so we have to be really concerned that we are in truth? putting America?s interests first.

here comes that economy

April was best month in history for U.S. budget, according to CBO figures

The federal government took in a record tax haul in April en route to its biggest-ever monthly budget surplus, the Congressional Budget Office said, as a surging economy left Americans with more money in their paychecks ? and this more to pay to Uncle Sam.

All told the government collected $515 billion and spent $297 billion, for a total monthly surplus of $218 billion. That swamped the previous monthly record of $190 billion, set in 2001.

CBO analysts were surprised by the surplus, which was some $40 billion more than they?d guessed at less than a month ago.

Analysts said they?ll have a better idea of what?s behind the surge as more information rolls in, but for now said it looks like individual taxpayers are paying more because they have higher incomes.

But this year was particularly strong, with receipts jumping 13 percent compared to a year ago.

The news couldn?t come at a better time for President Trump and congressional Republicans, who were facing major questions about the damage last year?s tax-cut package might do to future deficits. Just a month ago the CBO projected that the deficit would quickly soar back to $1 trillion a year.

This guy kind of reminds me of Yellow Fever.

Even Nate Silver is questioning all the polling as bull.  Just as all the "blue wave" hope and change will turn out to be in the end.

A secondary headline, given that Blankenship finished in a quite distant third place, is that internal ?polls? supposedly showing Blankenship surging may have been bullshit all along and driven a false narrative about the election ? a lesson that news organizations should learn from but probably won?t.

And Trump made a point of saying, "No he's not."  The voters of W. Virginia listened to Trump this time and did not vote for Blankenship, unlike in Alabama when Trump endorsed Luther Strange, but the voters selected Roy Moore instead to go down in flames.

It turns out Trump is smarter than the average Republican voter.

CNN poll: Democrats' 2018 advantage is nearly gone
The generic congressional ballot has continued to tighten, according to a new CNN poll conducted by SSRS, with the Democrats' edge over Republicans within the poll's margin of sampling error for the first time this cycle.

About six months out from Election Day, 47% of registered voters say they back the Democratic candidate in their district, 44% back the Republican.

The Democrats' advantage in the generic ballot dipped from 16 points in February to six points in March to just three points now.

These are the people they missed in the last election, and they are going to miss them again. They still don?t get it, but it is no surprise to us. Ultimately, it?s the economy, stupid.

These Lifelong Democrats Voted for Trump and Aren?t Sorry

For Smith, who lives with her husband, George, on a working farm in nearby Saybrook, the political tipping point?even more than the job losses and the decay of the area?was a result of her faith and her growing disconnect on cultural issues from the candidates she had previously supported.

?I had looked the other way for far too long, had accepted that I was supposed to be more modern in my views when I wasn?t comfortable with the views my party started to take,? Smith says, making clear that this was a difficult decision to have made and to discuss publicly. ?And I took a stand for myself, my beliefs, for life, and for my country.?

She says she also took a stand for her community: ?All of this decay has happened under their [the Democrats?] watch.?
