Laguna Altura homes

NEW -> Contingent Buyer Assistance Program
Yes and due to its rarity and pedigree. Since the loan mod opportunity was there like seeing a Benjamin on the ground so I  got greedy. Bite me for taking your tax dollars. Ok so I got blinded by the single story 4car garage and the 12 car driveway.

Let me teach you something about collecting art. Just a couple of pieces on my wall will just about pay for the motorcourt homes most of you salivate over. I am at a point not really looking for a habitat to shelter my family from the rain. A rare piece that has been in a family heirloom get snapped up really quick regardless of economy. My home is considered a very rare piece and not like those assembly line homes. If the Louvre ever decides to sell the Mona Lisa do you think buyers would pass this opportunity because of the economic climate. Most collectors would not but if it is just a Mona Lisa poster like masse produced Irvine boxes then I would just wait or just pass. By owning a fake would just be shameful among my art collector peers.
So you *did* buy based on emotion?

How did you get a loan mod if works of art don't go down in value?

Hippo + Kriss + eee = ?

(okay... I'm sorry... I'll stop now)

IHS, are we going to drive our Porsches down PCH this weekend? I love smoking econo boxes driven by 99'ers who can't afford a luxury sports car, or houses where their driveway doesn't cross a sidewalk.

Only if you plant a third palm tree in your private beach so I could tie my own hammock. Good thing that you brought up my favorite topic: Houxes where the garage is 80% of the house width and don't cross the sidewalk either. The backyard is the same size as the master bedroom. The ground level has just one room. One can't see the street from the Living space. The rear yard has 5 neighbors and a freeway. The front door is next to a driveway for those who were lucky enough to have one or next to a garage door. The front door is 16' wide. No living space next to the front door. Mowing lawn with the child's scissor. Never get to see the 4th side of the house for those who are lucky to have a 4th side. I can't go cruising with you Indie because I don't want to lose my favorite parking spot next to the curb in front of my house.

Hey Indie, are you that rich? What is rich to you? Boasting you bought at CDM and driving Porches etc. I bet it's a small Sq. foot home in CDM!?  How come you spend so much of your time chatting on Irvine Talk? Most of us would like to know what you do for a living? Do you have a real business, or job, to occupy your time? Do you even have a family with a wife and few kids? Do you think a serious businessman like Bren would spend his time yakking it up on an internet board just about everyday? I could understand if you just post a few replies but it seems to me, and most us in Irvine Talk, from your posting history, you are jobless, or retired and content with your miniscule wealth. Also, is that picture of you (a young Asian dude) really you, or you are pretending to be what you are not? Maybe after all, everything about you is a fake including your Newport lifestyle.  :P

I wouldn't like to know what he does for a living-  not in the "Irvine Real Estate" forum anyway.  But anyway, real ballers keep their pagers on vibrate.

jamboreedude it's simple, IHS and myself are true 1 percenters. I see you're trying your best to get personal information about us, but what makes you think we would let you into our circle?

You can't just game yourself into the elite, unless you're sexy and know how to work it, and let's be honest, with a name like jamboreedude, that's highly unlikely.

Anyone can claim to be a true 1 percenter. You feel good claiming to be one, eh? I highly doubt you are simply because you are clearly a jobless person. There is a saying, "an empty vessel makes the most noise", and that clearly defines who you really are. So PLEASE stop padding yourself on the back here on Talk Irvine! By the way, I am a true 1 percenter for most of my working life, and I now live in a multi-million estate (all paid up/debt  free) in Crystal Cove!

IndieDev - in all seriousness, what kind of work do you do (or used to do if you are retired)?

I grew up with nothing, so im always curious what people with large amounts of wealth did/have done to accumulate their wealth.  You dont have to say exactly what you do (if you think that would be revealing to much about yourself) but maybe give out enough info so we get a sense of what kind of work you do/did to accumulate your cash money.
Im a CPA, a wage earner, i do pretty well for myself, but unfortunately, being a wage earner i wont be able to retire till im 55.

JDude,

Do you know which project in Crystal Cove that has a flight of stairs that connects 2 culdesacs of 2 different streets that has a differential elevations of 35 feet?

Retire at 55?
That?s very solid.
The way money runs through our household, I?m looking to pick up a second or third job.

I don't know if what Indie does for a living is really all that relevant. I know recently an immigrant Mr Lin gave him $999,999 to run several brothels in Irvine.

We're not looking to buy a palace or anything, in fact it's probably going to be a 3/2 or 4/2 around 2,000 sqft probably built in the 60s. I'm almost sure we'll also end up having to spend money to remodel. But to me it's it's worth it. The clean air, the scenery, perfect. It's just paper.

I do agree that the three locations we're considering are very white washed, but I have to ask why that makes you uncomfortable? Do you have bad experiences with older white folks?  :D

Doesn't sound like 1% or a baller to me.

My background is in finance. I worked a 9-5 job for a brokerage in my younger years.

As for what my current job is, it would be hard to explain since I have my hands in numerous areas, entrepreneur fits best. I guess you could say my bread and butter is "creative finance". I have an "office" in Tustin, but I only travel there maybe once or twice a week. Most of the time I work from home.

As for as how I accumulated cash, simply put, I took risk, I didn't make stupid decisions, I don't get discouraged easily, I make the right friends, and I'm not lazy. My day starts at 6am, and day ends around 12-1am. I get around 4-5 hours of sleep every night during the work week. In my "business", failure is a fact of life. For every one successful client project, I'd say there are about 7 or 8 failures mingled in between. It's not for the meek of heart, and it's not for bullshitters. The clientele I deal with on a daily basis are exceedingly smart, rich, and can detect BS twenty miles away. It's in my interest to never sugar coat facts, or spout happy thoughts to sooth anxiety, because they would detect it and drop me like a rock. I also have to have think skin. When you're dealing with people who trust you with lots of their money, it's common to hear the words "f*ck", "sh*t", more often than not directed at you, it's a very tense and emotional environment, especially now.

If you want to retire before you're 55, the best way to win the "rat race" is to not participate in it. How feasible that is to you is up to you to decide. Some people don't do it because of kids, wife, other obligations. There is a reason that entrepreneur is sometimes seen as a synonym for "unemployed", that's how many of them end up.

Forbes 2011 Most Expensive Zip Codes in the United States:http://www.forbes.com/lists/2011/7/zip-codes-11_land.html

#48 92625, Corona Del Mar, CA - Median Home Price: $1,905,715

I'd say that's solidly 1% for the U.S.

Guess what Unicorn city doesn't even have a single zip code show up in the Top 100? I think you should ask your overbearing Korean husband. He might know the answer to that question.

Mr. "Financier" IndieDev, has a CDM "fixer-upper, 2000 SF in all" MANSION? LOL!  :-X  Must be the worst house in all of CDM. Good luck!

Not the best, but not the "worst". The actual square footage on the home I did end up buying is a bit bigger than 2,000 sqft, but there are certainly much bigger homes in CDM than mine.

Shady Canyon should get is own zip code..that way Irvine will be on the list.

I gotta defend Indie on this one. Any home purchase in CDM qualifies you as a baller in my book.
