you would think with 8000 sq ft at a cost of $18 million you'd get a bit more roomy patio??? it looks like landscaping, fauna, stoneworking, and furniture all exploded together and ended up like that.

For more temperate days, the family will enjoy a four-story open garden. In profile, the rebar-enforced beams form a "W" shape that supports the upper two-thirds of the building while creating an open-air atrium of gardens, flowers and lawns. Gardens, whether hanging hydroponic plants, or fixed trees, are a critical part of the building's exterior adornment

Grotesque. Repulsive. Disgusting.

Freedom, hurry make an offer! It won't last long :) Can anyone tell us if this is one of the developments on leased land? If so, it's even more a joke. And what exactly does $375/mo in HOA for a 2 bd provide?

Someone was really guzzling the koolaid on that listing - a slightly larger house in the same neighborhood sold for 536K in January. Do listers do their own pricing on Redfin?

Their own pricing? Heck no, they hired a Professional!!!

So... I am checking out some of my old search areas, and I found this gem, with the must have picture for every home that is listed.

BTW, who is Joseph Filippe? Is he the black sheep of the Joseph Phelps family or what?

Jeezus, they have some good Kool-Aid in Conn. Mmmm... flower gardens are such a great selling point. I hope the discounted price includes the rocking chair, otherwise it is a no go for me. I am so glad it comes with new mechanicals, I just hope they have experience working on Bimmers. And, why, gawd why... the hell would I need a chef bath? Is that where they wash the veggies, or do they actually cook in there? I don't want my food coming from a bathroom, even if the home includes a chef. Ugh... the illiterates are every where, I just hope there is a ConnRenter in Conn. who has a blog to rip on these fools.

I have a house just up the street, in Chester. Deep River is actually going through a major revitalization right now...it's looking good ! They just put in a Dunkin' Donuts... hallelujah!

Yes, the mill rate (taxes) is high because there isn't much industry to support the town, same in Chester. Essex, however, is a different story...very low taxes because of the boat yard, marina and yacht club. The Main Street shops also contribute to the town coffers. LOVE Essex.

what are you doing here, if you have a house in a very nice part of CT? I love that area. I used to go out with someone who was working at Yale, so we would spend our weekends in the country, driving around there and yardsailing, and down at the beach.

I rarely meet anyone from Connecticut since I came to California 10 yrs ago. Maybe we are too ashamed to admit it?!?!

Born in Stratford, parents tired of the snow when I was 2, but went back and spent a year with my brother in Milford at 19. CT is very charming. I just love the houses out there... the one I was born in was built in 1790!
