Whoa whoa whoa ! I missed the 6/2 posts from my fellow Connecticuns !

Freedom...to answer your question, because my job pays me too well here. I wouldn't earn 1/2 my salary in CT. I know this b/c I was a police officer in CT for years before I became one in L.A. Hence, my nickname Trooper.

I used to patrol the towns of Chester, Deep River and Essex. Stationed out of Troop F in Westbrook. Homesick every day....

I'll be out of here once I hit 20 years. PS in winter, CT in summer. That's the plan.

Born in Hebron, raised in Bolton. Neither of these towns, I might add, even had a stoplight. OK, so Bolton had a blinking yellow at a dangerous intersection.... I'm talking cowtowns here people !

Troop,

My favorite town in America is Litchfield, Conn. I dream of Litchfield like Panda dreaming of Irvine.

Here's some WTF CT listings for you !

Meryl Streep lives close by in Salisbury. I took summer camp in Kent, it was beautiful there....albeit isolated.

or here's one Litchfield listing.....3 bd, 1 bath with 203 acres ! Only 4.2 mil.

If anyone is wondering why WTF pricing exists in this part of CT....it's because the commute to NYC is almost "doable". You can still "live in the country" but work on Wall Street. Most W.S. -ers keep a pied-a-tierre in the city while wifey lives with the kids in the country. They then come home on weekends. If not in CT, then they do it in The Hamptons.

[quote author="Astute Observer" date=1213426937]203 acres! That is about $20k/acres. I don't think that is too WTF, but maybe I am used to seeing people selling dirt for $1 mil per acre.

but it probably has an agricultural restriction. many of the properties around Litchfield do. so that is an awfully expensive "yard"

Hilarious video for this "Custom Estate"

http://la.myspace.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=vids.individual&VideoID=24290910

Misspellings and incorrect wording I've found so far:

- Apoxy finished 3 car garage

- Custom raw iron work

- Impressing from your first step inside

- Polished travertine floors throught main level

- From the crown molding to the coved based boards

- Passed your wine room

- As we wonder back over the balcony entrance

Not to mention all of the Random Capitalization and other realtorese.

All of this guy's videos are pretty funny:

This one, especially:

That isn't funny, it's appalling! I have a hard time with agents who can't spell or articulate descriptions for lower end properties, but this is just sick. With the commission that goes with selling a home like that, this unprofessional slop is criminal. Is it his daddy's house?

I agree with you to a certain extent. I can't get angry at something like that. All I can do is feel sad for them and laugh.

I take it Jason didn't grow up in the Irvine school district :) We complain about the Mexican immigrants not speaking English, yet Jason, who can't be bothered to learn it properly, will make more on the sale of this home than three illegals breaking their back all year.

Price quoted is very cheap! 1m/ac is too cheap.

Ahhh, Bird Rock. I miss that spot. Easy pickings for local lobster down in SD on the evening high tide.

I grew up in a house similar to this. The multi color paint job is all custom.

This thing ended up selling at $1,865,000. I think it was originally listed in the $2.8MM range, even though the video shows it at $2.495MM. That's 33% and 25% off those listing prices, respectively. It ended up going at $592/sf.
