This is such a fallacy. EVs are not woke or a new toy... it's improved transportation technology. You just can't see it. Just like Netflix was a new way to provide entertainment, smartphones were a new way to communicate, consume and socialize. We all benefit from advances in transportation... or anything.

And... and... and... why are EVs not as bad now that Musk is on the other side? Politics is so silly and fickle... and I'll give Elon credit for knowing how to butter his bread on both sides.

BTW: Bloomberg thinks EV sales are going to crash 27% when the tax credits are removed (no link because of paywall)... so you aren't the only one who feels that way.

I'm not worried... we don't see many horse and carriage rigs anymore so society will eventually choose.

There is speculation that the new administration will eliminate the $7,500 tax credit for individual EV sales.

Although it considers some recent funds Rivian and Lucid have received, it also shows sharp decreases from 2022 cash balances. The authors ask whether each company has enough capital due to extremely small sales, which could take years to rise to the level where they break even on a cash basis.
