Sidebar: The worst is when a household has two cars. Their 2 car garage is pretty empty. But they can only park one car in it. And for some unknown reason, they park that one car in the middle of the garage. Which means they HAVE to park their 2nd car on the street even though they have a full driveway. This drives me nuts!!!

Just complain to your HOA and have them start garage inspections. I'm sure that will make you popular with your neighbors.

But they would pass garage inspections.  The garage is empty enough to park both cars. They just choose not to. This has nothing to do with popularity.

Difference between a good neighborhood and a bad one.
People here tend to have too much stuff and use garage as storage, park car on the street.
People in the not so nice part of town will always try to park in the garage. Any car left outside is fair game.

LOL! I think my neighborhood is decent and we always park our cars in the garage. The car stays cooler and the paint looks great years later.

It's always been a mixed bag in every neighborhood I've lived in. Some are religious about parking both cars in their garage. Some park one in and one on the driveway. Some park none in the garage but both on the driveway. I've even seen ppl park 3 cars in their 3 car tandems. But I've never seen this "lemme park one car in the middle of the garage despite it being empty" as often as I have here.

LOL $1m+ doesn't even get you a full driveway in Tustin.

#qweripoff!!

thats how we roll man. Tustin > Irvine :-)

at least a million gets you half a driveway. in irvine you get no driveway.
Hah... I'm pretty sure that new builds over $1m in Irvine have driveways.

Yet another reason why spending that much in Tustin is a bad idea.

But I guess your guests can always park at Costco. :)

Nope, Terrazza in OH is over $1M and no driveway.  That has got to be worst selling neighborhood in all of OH.  The layouts are nice, but just doesn't feel like a $1M house to me without a driveway.  Sad what people have come to accept with Irvine real estate.

Builders are greedy and use narrow lots and smaller garages. Ideally a garage should have 2.5 spaces allowing for maximum utility.

If the garage is narrow maybe they want to park in the middle of an empty garage so they don't have an issue with the doors of both the passenger side and driver's side hitting the wall or maybe parking two cars would mean that the driver's door would hit the passenger side of the other car so they don't bother trying to get both in so might as well park one in the middle.

I myself want my cars in the garage to keep them cool and not exposed to weather as much as possible.

I don't quite fall into that category but due to parts/tires/wheels/etc the car gets parked in the middle of the garage.  I am going to get some side storage unit to put the other stuff there and open up space to another car.

USC - you need one of these

Qwerty, if you meet up with Iho today, please do a selfie with him and send it to me. I need something more current to use as my phone's wallpaper since I only have that one pic of you guys doing 8-pack abs on the fence.

Maybe you should swap the fence photo with the picture of Qwerty's calf pic.

First, I put it on my nightstand. He put it face-down. I put it face-up. He hid it in a drawer. I took it out. He put it in the trash. I put it back on the nightstand. He ran over it with his car. I replaced the frame and put it on the desk. So far so good.
