In theory it can help for large droplets, but there are so many other factors at the end the net benefits is muted, become nothing more than virtue signaling
"In theory"? You just said it can stop oxygen and germs... both of which are factors smaller than "large droplets".
Reducing viral load is a key factor in reducing transmission... that's not virtuous... it's smart.
