I tried Mahi Mahi over the weekend. So yeah! Not all of my protein comes from shakes, bars and tofu :-)
Lunch didn't go well. Ate Vegetable Pilaf, falafel, edamame hummus and fage yogurt. Not bad, but doesn't help the cause of washboard abs.

What type of work outs do you do?? How often?

Cardio, mainly elliptical twice a week.
Weight train once a week.
Yoga with abs target on Wii once a week.
Hike once a week. (I think this will stop going forward)
On the days that I binge, I rest the body also.

Should incorporate more planks.. that will help with the lower abs.
You are doing insanity regularly? One of my friend over did and hurt herself..So I am rethinking my decision of trying something intense :-)

Yeah I've been doing it religiously now following the DVDs and schedule but with my own diet.  It's tough, a lot of the moves repeat but you max out your reps on them.  You have to be in decent shape to complete the work outs.  Just like any exercise, they incorporate stretching in their programs which should prevent injuries but turning your ankle or overworking yourself is pretty common I heard in P90 and insanity.

Sooo busy the last couple days and tomorrow. School started today. Will try to catch up soon.

Abs of steel is quite a lofty goal. I am more in Iho's arena. My goal is to look like I had two kids...  not like I ate two kids.

Checkin in.

Do you eat any fruit or berries, Homer? I remember seeing it one time. Watermelon, I believe.

The days have been long and crazy here. When I'm awake early and go to bed late, it's hard to stay with my routine since obviously I'd have to go longer between meals or avoid snacking. I've managed to pull it off, but it hasn't been easy.

After dropping off the big boy and the little boy yesterday morning, I forced my husband to take me on a date. First one in a year. Wooo! We went to a nice cafe with comfortable chairs that invite you to stay all day and have another cup. I could have used the special occasion as an excuse to blow my diet but I resisted. He ordered a banana muffin and wanted to share. Danger, Danger! We took a bite and both agreed it wasn't nearly as good as the banana bread I had just baked at home over the weekend. No temptation there after all. I ordered a caramel apple Italian soda and without cream. Saved myself a couple hundred calories there. I confirmed they use heavy whipping cream which is 50 calories per Tbsp... they use an ounce! The soda was very good. It was one flavor out of 500+ that they make. I like this place -- Green Earth Coffee.

Snack - Protein Bar Peanut Butter

I had Chocolate Deluxe today. Eggs, cappuccino flavored protein, Virginia peanuts, brown rice so far. My good neighbor got me a box of sweets. Didn't eat any carb in the afternoon so that I can have those soon.. Night might be some fruit and protein smoothie. Ever tried Spinach in smoothies? I haven't dared yet.

Bumped 3 pistachios? How come? I thought 17 was the limit ;-)

I needed the fat for my macros to be perfect  :D

Well, I'm gonna be cheating tomorrow.

Heading over to Bottega Louie in the afternoon for some lunch and macarons.  Then dinner at Church and State for some bone marrow and yummy dinner/drinks.  Kiss my diet good-bye tomorrow  :(

I think I've decided to only weigh myself 1x/mo. I am sticking to my plan and definitely feel / see a difference in my body, however, the scale is betraying me. The fluctuations do get to me. They make me feel discouraged - like - why try! But I know I can't pay attention to that. I've done this twice before. I can do it again. Granted, this time I'm not cutting back as severely as I was before. It's not a race to me. I'll get there when I get there. As long as I'm moving in the right direction, that's all that matters to me.

Let's talk about "red light" food. What are yours?

These are what made me fat at a time in my life when I was at my heaviest years ago:

I ate these for breakfast and sometimes I would have them before bed! Oh, no. That was not such a good idea back then. The biggest thing I've steered clear from since counting calories has been dry breakfast cereal. They are just loaded with sugar. I would say avoiding them is the #1 thing that has helped me lose weight.

I didn't even know these existed until I was a teenager when an Asian friend took me to their special grocery store:

I could not be left alone in a room with this bag. I hardly ever buy these anymore. Too dangerous.

I would not care if I could never eat another french fry or fried food again. I do have a sweet tooth and have trouble staying away from sweets. I am weakest when it comes to chocolate chip cookies.

The frosted mini wheats may or may not have jumped into my shopping cart last time I was at the store.  :o I am trying really hard not to eat any but they shouldn't even be in the house since it's hard for me. My son plans to eat them. I hope he does. I honestly can't remember the last time the other two have made it past my front door. I despise the fact Costco sells giant bags of Famous Amos. Mr. SoCal bought one once. I made him keep it at work. I couldn't deal with it.

Coconut Macaroons. I never stop at one.
Baklava. Before I know it the box is empty.
Ferrero Rocher. Holiday chocolates in pretty boxes.
Grapes. Carbs, sugar, who cares!?

I have plateaued officially. No change in diet and exercise is helping. Up a fraction, down a fraction, but flat lined. Thinking of hiring a trainer but other than roll a cold water bottle on my forehead, he is not going to help much.

Well Saturday was my cheat day.  Had the bone marrow, baked escargot in a buttery sauce, bacon tarte, and some aioli fries.  Two beers and some mixed drink with absinth...

Washed it all down with an earl grey and espresso macaron  :D

Lunch - 8 oz Chicken Breast, 3oz of veggies and a plum

CZ: Sorry about the plateau, but aren't you really close to your goal anyway??

Homer: I didn't know they make a Wasabi Shrimp Chip!! I try to avoid eye contact with the chips so they don't accidentally jump into my shopping cart. Are they really, really spicy?

IHO: I looked all over for the Active oatmeal you mentioned earlier. Can't find it. Which store did you buy it from? I'm happy my store replaced their Oat Revolution Peaches & Cream Close Out special with Oat Revolution Maple & Brown Sugar. It's even better than the peaches. I did try their Strawberry version. It was so gross. The strawberry is very fake and overwhelming. It tastes like car freshener!
