Want to hosta TI Cooking class? Marge and I would be there!

What do you guys want to know how to make? We could start a new thread where we all share our favorite recipes.

Hurts to acknowledge, but I have finished half a box of Costco cupcakes on days when things were overwhelming, and I don't even like the chocolate chip variety.

Next time you find yourself in that situation, call me. That's what friends are for. I will be happy to drive over and polish them off for you, crumbs and all intervene to help you. Because I'm selfless like that. It's the least I could do.

That is a good plan! We can divide up the calories, and then show it off to Homer so that he can be inspired to grab a bundt too :-)
BTW, up 1.5lbs today for no reason other than some oatmeal cookies and a petite palmier. Unfair!

Don't weigh yourself everyday.  Weight yourself once every two weeks.  Your weight will fluctuate .5-3 pounds throughout a day. :D

One of my favorite things to pick up at Ralph's are the Kroger salad kits. They come in about six different versions. Chef, Cobb, Caesar, Spinach Harvest, etc. Have you guys seen these at other stores? They are a clear plastic square bowl. The topping package is separate. It has a little dressing container. Most (all?) do not have croutons, so they are perfect for low carb diets as well. I think the spinach kind has dried fruit, which you don't have to open if you don't want due to the sugar. They're about 300 calories, give or take. They are ridiculously overpriced - about $4 each, but I don't care. It saves me having to analyze everything. Plus they are super easy to pack and take with you somewhere.

The only imagine I could find quickly from the web:

How did everyone do over Labor Day weekend??  I had a cheat meal Sunday night for my grandmas birthday dinner.  Had some of the oiliest Chinese food I have ever eaten in Monterey Park  :'(

Back on track today!!

Breakfast:  5 egg whites and 1 whole egg.  Half of an avocado and a slice of wheat bread.

Snack: Protein Bar (Chocolate peanut butter)

Lunch: Leftover Grilled 7oz chicken breast seasoned with Kirkland Organic no salt seasoning, steamed cauliflower and broccoli and a sweet potato.

Snack: Protein shake

Dinner: 2 Turkey patties, 1/2 cup of brown rice and mixed steamed veggies.

Snack: Watermelon  :D

Good for you, Homer, moving onward and upward!

There are some hard days here. Being a good cook can be a terrible curse. I would find a new hobby, except I have men to feed. That's what sucks about dieting. You still have to eat. At least an alcoholic can avoid the bar. We can't avoid food.

Binged all three days (actually started Friday. No, Thursday night after back to school night). But weight is back to where I left off last week, so not worried. I think I have plateaued. Hovering around the same number - weight and measurement-wise.

Time for a change! Don't know what, but something has to be changed. May be workout- enough with the cardio, I should start weight training regularly. Or do one of those classes.. pilates works like a charm for me, and I LOVE spinning! Lets' see.

Abs- Homer, six pack out yet? :-)

Doomed if you love them desserts :S
Pumpkin Spice is back- got to work on a low cal/ low carb version of this recipe! Otherwise it won't be an easy winter. Shopped for a lot of clothes during labor day. Don't want to go back digging into my old box again!

I am supposed to weigh myself Mondays. I was impatient and hopped on the scale Sunday.... -3.5 lbs. I'll take it! I'm down 6.5 since we started.

Yesterday, I let myself have a day off from counting calories. I ate whatever I felt like, but my body wouldn't let me go too nuts. I get full quickly. Today, I am back to my routine.

Here is my new favorite for breakfast. It is so much more filling than regular instant oatmeal! It does not contain anything extra in the way of calories or sugar. This has flax seed in it, which I love, because it's what sticks to your ribs.

Oat Revolution. Available in Peaches & Cream, Strawberries & Cream, Apples & Cinnamon, etc. I got it at Ralph's on Closeout for about 90 cents per pack!

For you Trader Joe's shoppers -- they also carry an instant oatmeal with flax seed in it.

Not yet.  Only when I flex  :(.  There's still a layer of goo on top of it  :'(

My BMI dipped down a little as I dropped 3.5 pounds (Water weight probably).

I feel a Hemp Brownie reference coming... I bet Homer knows if those were good in college, too.

Closeout? Does that mean Ralph's is going to stop selling it?

I'm going to try to find this... I like the fruity oatmeals (awaiting jokes)... bought a brand called Active Lifestyle that has raisins, walnuts and apples... doesn't look or taste anything like the picture:

Hi, Iho. Not sure what the deal is with the Close Out. I will keep an eye on it and let you know if the shelf tag disappears. I see the product is still mentioned on the manufacturer's site. Maybe the store just decided to stop carrying it. If you find it, it's definitely a good buy. It normally costs several dollars more.

I didn't know there was one with walnuts in it. I usually hate nuts but it wouldn't stop me from trying it. At least nuts are filling. I'll definitely have to look for that one. Thanks for the tip. A friend of mine eats 2 packets of instant because one is not enough. Pffft, I say to that. Too much sugar. It's better to have something with fiber in it like that product you got or the flax seeds.

I'm so happy you changed your mind about joining us. You're going to be thrilled when you begin to see the fruits of your labor. (Pun intended!)

Heh... I'm still not counting calories.

The oatmeal and cereal I've done off and on for a while now... so no big change there... I think being more wary of what I'm eating for lunch is the only modification.

I just can't see how Homer can plan a whole day like that... and what about his restaurant trips? Are those gone now?

Restaurant trips are easy with a calorie app for your phone. The database is huge and includes so many restaurants. Iho, I think you would really like using it because you're a helpful person by nature... these programs allow the user to contribute data by entering food / product / menu information along with taking pics and uploading them to help others identify it. I've done a lot of them myself for easy reference. It doesn't hurt that it's available for others and vice versa.
