Speaking of breaking a diet, on the way home yesterday I stopped by Oahu shaved ice in Fullerton. Got a jumbo with extra syrup. Highly recommend if u like shaved ice. It's off of orangethorpe/lemon next to the amc theater.

At the Woodbridge mall, or whatever it is, off barranca they have shaved ice at a candy store there, forget the name, it's just ok though. And the is is not as finely shaved
Anything similar in and around Irvine? I wouldn't drive to Fullerton just to break a diet.. but if it's right here, may be I will work it into a binge day. So far so good with Bundt cakes- too bad eight people are supposed to share it!

Post a pic- it will easier to find ;)
This thread is dedicated to calories- not diet!! If  you dig the past posts, we have talked more about diet breakers than actual cardboard..

Same complex as Starplex and sad place for kids?
I have been there- that's where I get my candies. Costco-ing candies would kill me!

Woohoo! Congratulations, Homer! You've worked so hard towards your goal and now you've achieved it. I will think of you every time I am about to put a Berries & Cream Sweet Roll Pastry from Costco into my mouth. "WWHD?" I'll ask myself.

I never ate that! Which aisle?

Not where I would have thought it would be over by the bakery. Irvine Costco. On a food aisle. At the end closest to the side of the store rather than the end nearest the middle. Facing north. Comes in a round, clear plastic tub.

Am I supposed to be giving directions in the diet thread?  :-X

Those are very good. Just bought some last week. At the district Coscto they are in the chip/bread isle to the left of the deli, to the right of the frozen food

There are three Hawaiian style shaved ice that I know of in Irvine:

Nalu's Hawaiian in Quail Hill
Sticky Fingers in Woodbridge
Da Kine Hawaiian in the Cypress Village center

Sticky Fingers has some Hawaii add-ins like mochi, ice-cream etc, Nalu's is just shaved ice and Da Kine has a fruits option (like some of the Taiwanese places).

I'm kind of a shaved ice aficionado... but more the Hawaiian style... not Taiwanese Cafe pile it on style.

I've tried da kine and sticky fingers. Not nearly as good as Oahu in Fullerton. I'll have to try nalus

I'll need to go to Fullerton.

I agree that the ones in Irvine aren't close to the kind you get in Hawaii... but it's kind of expensive to get to Matsumoto's or Ululani's... and it's not really shipping friendly.  ???

Whats your choice in protein bar?

Also, by egg whites.  Do you do the actual egg white or one of those liquid cartons like egg beaters?

Kudos on weighing everything, I never had (but hopefully someday will) the discipline for that.

I like the Quest bar (chocolate brownie) from Quest Nutrition and also Greens Plus  (Peanut Butter and Chocolate). Some of the other bars have alot more protein in them but I really like the ingredient profiles on these. The Greens Plus one initially has an algae and seaweed taste in it but you get used to it fast.

I'm glad you guys feel healthy.

I feel uncomfortably fat and disgusting. Not cute whatsoever. HOWEVER.

I received the news that a man who saw me the other day thinks I'm "woah" - just his type. Only problem is he is a 50-something, greasy, nasty slob and confirmed bachelor. I believe he still lives with his mother. I don't know if I should be flattered or thoroughly grossed out. Judging by the look on my husband's face when he gave me the news i.e.:  :D , I'll go for the latter.  ??? The guy actually had the nerve to walk into my husband's office, look at the framed photo(!) of the two of us on his desk, and ask about his hot girlfriend. (My husband does indeed wear a wedding ring. I don't know where this mistress business is coming from.) Better the mistress than the ol' ball and chain, I suppose.

ANYWHO.

Now I feel creepy all over and a little sick to my stomach. Life has gone downhill since the compliments started coming from the likes of this guy and the old school janitor.

I think it's time for a Green Tea detox just like the old days .

ROFL

My bad I was just trying to be complimentary, I guess I ruined your day.

Seriously though you should write somewhere and make money off of it, that was hilarious.

So, 3pm the whole plan goes kaput.
I eat a good breakfast, lunch, but after spending an hour in car, picking up two kids and coming home, I just eat anything and everything. The control is back for dinner again, but I eat so many wrong things, I can't undo it all. Any easy and healthy sugar fixes?

Drink a Gatorade G2 - it's 20 ounces so the fluid will fill u up and it's got enough sugar to give it a good flavor.  40 calories for the 20 oz bottle

Sometimes I miss breakfast because I'm busy running around, can any recommend any good tasting protien bars?

Do you have a girlfriend? Seeing anyone special these days? I like asking personal questions but couldn't find a good segue. All I can say is cooking reminded me of it.

Let me try Gatorade. Now that I think of it, a liquid should control the cravings. Thanks Qwerty!

Costco sells boiled eggs and shelled eggs. Easiest thing :) a toast and a protein drink, you are set for three hours. I like Pure Protein because they are low in carbs, but Zone 5 PB tastes better. Think thin is the worst :) nature valley also has 10g protein granola bars. Oh, Greek yogurt or cottage cheese with granola and ome fruit is a very healthy and easy to put together breakfast..

Yes, I have a girlfriend that I've been seeing for the past 2 months.
