Two mini breakfasts already!- ate 4 egg whites, a cup of coffee early in the morning, then picked up a pure protein bar, was still hungry- went for babybel light. Might make one more cup of coffee to stop the super hunger! I took an hour long walk last night in the neighborhood. May be that helped change the metabolism..

Oh, made this pilaf from Black rice last night. Had to present in a very beautiful manner to make sure everyone in the family at least stabbed their forks in it. Black rice + TVP + Biryani Spice mix + Pomegranate seeds on top + coriander served with a side of cucumbers and Fage yogurt. Everyone loved it, and wanted more. Black rice tastes better than the brown/white basmati.

No- didn't take one. Will make it again tomorrow, there will enough time to take a picture before they eat :-) BTW, it's available at District Costco..
 
We should start a Costco thread. I would love to see that!
But here is a quick Costco update- they have Starbucks hot chocolate available now. It's seasonal.
They have Hemp too (health food  ;))

Breakfast - 5 egg whites and 1 large egg and 1 whole wheat toast.

Snack - Protein Bar

Lunch - 8 oz of Chicken Breast and 1/2 cup of veggies

Snack - 17 pieces of mixed nuts

Dinner - 8 oz of lean ground turkey cooked with peas and carrots served over black rice (I think).

Dessert - peach  8)

Breakfast - 2 Turkey Bacon strips and 5 egg whites.

Snack - Protein Bar

Lunch - Lean ground turkey, tomatoes, lettuce, fat free cheese and 1 whole grain tortilla.  1/2 an apple

Snack - 1/4 cup mixed nuts

Dinner - 10oz baked chicken breast.  1/2 cup of veggies and 1/2 cup of brown rice.
 
Roasted edamame + Protein shake made with blueberries and almond milk + Whole wheat bread. Might have chocolate caramel revolution soon. Lunch will be quinoa with kale salad from Costco. Snacks and dinner unplanned.

You are very focused- I lose my focus when I am stressed/ over worked or I don't see results.
How are abs?

Oh, yesterday I made black bean and string cheese quesadilla with the Costco low carb tortilla. Out and out Costco recipe, and it was better than I had expected.. I was so hungry when I went home, but also determined to make something healthy than down a cup of coffee with whole wheat cookies..
 
You are a rock star, Homer! Your dedication is unbelievable.

My diet has gone to ache - ee - double hockey sticks. However, I've been going for walks 2x/day, M-F, for the last six weeks and will continue to for the rest of the school year. It doesn't seem to be doing a bit of good, though!

Tonight's dinner: I'm making my husband Baked Ziti w/ Roasted Asparagus & Homemade Buttermilk Biscuits

Dessert: Coffee, Tea or Me.  :)

Ha. I'll also be making Lime Cheesecake in a Graham Cracker Crust


 
CZ, you're doing a good job! The Costco quesadilla is a good one. I like combining their products. We should make a Costco thread.

Is it the La Factory Tortillas?? I love those ones!

Abs are getting more defined.. it's going to take a few more pounds..  :(

I have a weakness for buttermilk biscuits... I enjoy them with honey poured on top!! I wonder if I'm the only person that does that.

I did CZ, I like it but not as much as brown or white.. maybe its the texture??
 
Hehe. I have a funny story about "black rice".

A couple years ago, SoCal & Mr. SoCal dined at a fancy-schmancy restaurant. We only went there because we were given a gift card. It's not a place I'd have chosen on my own.

I ordered the "black rice".

It looked weird on the plate. I wondered what made the rice black. It didn't look like any black rice I'd ever seen. I read the menu a bit closer and realized it was white rice soaked in squid ink!  :o

We stopped for a hamburger on the way home.
