Of course, especially if you don't smile or try to have a conversation with your neighbors while walking the dogs :-) I hear frown works more muscles than the smile. Burn baby burn!

Socal - my wife eats pretty healthy, i have no interest in eating healthy - so our situations are similar, except she doesnt cook me my favorite meals and have them ready when i get home  :(

My dad lived till 78 eating red meat, so that is my template.  I havent been able to drag her to the dark side though, she is pretty disciplined about eating good.

What's your dinner time solution, then? You eat what she makes or the folks at In & Out know you by name?

When I try feeding Mr. SoCal the kind of dinner I want, he looks:  ??? or  :(. He'll pick at it then get a bowl of cereal or secretly make himself a sandwich.

Aren't you worried about Mr.Socal's health? Or Italian guys can handle all that kind of food? I know Indians and Africans have issues with cholesterol and BP.

It's been 6 years since he's had a physical. I don't really know how his health is. He only went that time because I convinced him. Most men will only go see a doctor when they're on their deathbed. At that time his BP was good, everything else good, but his "good cholesterol" levels were a little low.

He's not a big eater. He just likes all the things a 5 year old would like.

He thinks he's fat. I don't. He's 5'10", 210'ish. I think he'd look good bigger. Secret: SoCal always liked the big boys.  :) I've told him it's A-OK with me if he wants to put on 50 or more. (Yes, yes. I know that's not healthy. My friends do think I'm crazy. You like what you like. I don't want him 600 lbs. Maybe high 200's to 300.) He says he appreciates the thought but doesn't think he can do it. He just doesn't eat enough to do that. He's got his own limits.

Have you met IHO?  :D

Mrs. IHO want to lose weight (what woman doesn't?)... but she's maybe only 5-10 lbs over her ideal weight (I think she's fine where she's at).

She eats better than I do... but has her weaknesses.

I like to blame her for my weight gain because she prefers to eat out all the time... and because she wanted me to have a fulltime job instead of my never know when the money is coming in consulting gig. :)

IHO, I blame my consulting gig for my weight gain :P
It was easy, pack a snack-lunch-snack combo, fill up with coffee in between. Now I am not sure what time I get to eat and what I get to eat, so there is no structure/schedule when it comes to eating. Only thing I have control on is my breakfast.

So every evening SoCal has three sugar high boys on hand!

I rarely eat what she makes for dinner. The guys at Taco bell know my name.  I also eat a lot of frozen food that i can just throw in the oven for 15-20 minutes, things like Delimex Beef Taquitos, the Don Miguel Steak and Cheese flautas from Costco, Paviillions has these things called Firecrackers from their private label, they are shredded beef with jalapenos wrapped in a won ton type "tortilla", white castle sliders, Costco's pre-cooked mircrowaveable burgers.  Cant wait to move in to the 3CWG (that was just to get IHO a little jealous) house to load up the fridge in the garage (right now we have just one fridge).

Just once.

I thought I was early enough, but nooooo. There he was at 7:30 a.m. with that shit-eating grin on his face.... mariachi band and everything.... ready to cut the "birthday pancake". Can you believe that?? He didn't even offer to share one table with me. Grrrr.

Revenge is a dish best served cold. I'll get you, Iho.
