Bike Trails

NEW -> Contingent Buyer Assistance Program
He'll probably be up for that. He's anxious to ride. I think riding with someone would get him to start doing it. I'll organize something after we get settled from the move.

<p>Wow, look what I missed by leaving OC for a weekend.</p>

<p>Eff: looks like you had a good ride. I usually ride to Laguna Beach from Irvine Spectrum (I live in the Village) and back. I usually ride around 1pm or so. Not much traffic around then (for some odd reason). The ride is slightly more challenging coming from the Irvine to Laguna direction as there is a climb to get over the hills. Coming back is much easier, traffic fighting aside.</p>

<p>I'm down for riding as usual, so let me know if people are interested.</p>

<p>Performance has a 20% off promo today only, code 6002384. Add this to one of their 2007 clearance bikes, do ship-to-store (no cost), and you can pick up a wicked cheap bike. Team Performance members will get another 10% back in points.</p>

<p>It finally got me off the fence. </p>

Anyone up for a leisurely Backbay ride this Sunday afternoon? (Oct 7th) with a Coffee stop. I'm still pretty sick but went for a nice ride this morning and I'm still here to tell the Tale....

Thanks Peeeeetah, I was just thinking of this thread the other day actually. There have been some nice days (mixed in with the cold) and I was driving by some nice trails in Turtle Rock and thought about a little ride.

Hey Irvine Soul Brother or others:

Does anyone know what the status of the Peter's Canyon trail is. There is an unfinished (unpaved/un-landscaped) section between Irvine Center Drive and Barranca.

Any ideas who I should contact at the city to see what their schedule is? Seems like they are getting a lot of new property taxes plus that lucrative Mello Roos gravy flowing from the Columbus Grove development.

Yes, I think I am referring to the closed section that starts at the railroad tracks and runs South. There is a dirt path that runs along the wash/drainage channel that is slated to be converted to a bike/running trail.

Most of this section is actually part of the city of Tustin.

I'd love to know who the right department is in Tustin to contact about when they plan to complete the project.

<p>I thought it was going to rain today so I thought I'd take the Mountain Bike for a spin...of course, it was a little Muddy after the rain we had last night but I had a lovely 3 hour ride and took some Pics...this one was taken at the Backbay.</p>

<p>The San Diego River was pretty full, this was taken approaching the IBD on the Bike Trail from Westpark.....</p>

<p>Trooper, the Bike is a Cannondale Caffeine 29'er and it has Cannondale's "Lefty" suspension Fork, so no, you're not seeing things, the advantage is that it saves weight.</p>

<p>Really, the unique part about this Bike is that it's Handmade in the USA </p>

<p> </p>

<p>Eff, I was out and about on the Bike today, westpark to HB and back this morning then Westpark to Laguna Bch this afternoon, in fact, I rode with a fellow IHB'er...we had an awesome ride....I'll leave it to Him to identify Himself if he wants to.....</p>

<p>But I ride a Cannondale in any case....</p>

<p>Where did you ride? Gorgeous Day wasn't it </p>

<p> By the way eff, we're gonna do it again, you should join us....</p>

<p>I rode the Santiago loop anticlockwise. I like being southbound when the sun is setting -- safer that way.</p>

<p>I'd love to ride in a group but I'm pretty damned slow. 30+ miles, no problem. Just give me half the day to do it! </p>

<p>I've never ridden it anticlockwise.....I'll do it with you sometime...</p>

<p>But come ride with us, the whole point of the ride would be to get out, have fun and make it from A to B safely, nobody will ever get dropped (apart from me ) </p>

<p>Oh, and Coffee is always involved....</p>

<p>I'm not sure I'll beable to ride next weekend because I'm getting LASIK on Thurs or Friday...but who knows? That's what Patches are for !! "ooohhharrrrrr Maties"!!</p>

<p>Remember Marco Pantani? Better known as "El Pirate"? I could be "El Limey Pirate"</p>

<p> </p>

<p>PeterUK and I went out for a ride down Laguna Canyon Road today. Great weather, good day to be out. Also, Peter's in tip top condition, and I'm grateful he didn't drop me that many times. :)</p>
