MUP = Multi Use Path.



Generally they're considered hazardous because Cyclists riding at 25+ mph don't mix with Joggers/walkers who make sudden u-turns, Families on Beach Cruisers who wonder into your path unexpectedly etc. I've never had an accident because I'm ultra carefull but for instance, a Lady was killed on the Harvard section by the Church (on the trail) she was hit by a Cyclist...
 
I'm so nervous about letting my husband ride his bike on the street. It seems so dangerous with unattentive drivers (playing with radio, on cell phone, etc).
 
Cycling on the street can be dangerous, but I gotta say, PCH near Crystal Cove has the most gorgeous views. :)

IMO, you do really have to be careful when riding on streets. It's best to go with a few other people.

I'm wondering if anyone plays basketball on Saturday mornings at the Village Apartments?

My husband is looking for a pickup game.
 
I think pick up games are on Thursday evenings. I went to one of them about 6-7 months ago. The games are pretty casual. If your husband is looking for good competition, check out Heritage Park Court (Walnut and Yale) and/or Orchard Park Court (Yale and Roosevelt). Those games are pretty competitive.

Thanks, Vic. I'll let him know so he can check them out. He's always up for a basketball game. He usually plays in Newport Beach, but lately they haven't been getting enough guys showing up.

No 60 hour week for me this week!



I ride my Bike to work anyway but not every Day so I guess seeing as I pledged to ride to work I'll have to ride there and back on Monday then actually ride to work and stay there the rest of the week... >:(

He sold more than 50 bicycles in the first month, double the projections in his business plan.
