Bike Trails

NEW -> Contingent Buyer Assistance Program
--I distinctly remember offering all cyclists sunblock before the ride, only to be met with cavalier shrugs.

Yes, I got burnt pretty good on my shoulders. Guess I missed some spots. :P

Sorry prof, was waiting for peter to comment. I don't think the snake was alive. No chance in hell can it surve Peter's bike. :)

Yeah, that bike is so hideous, it tends to turn those who look upon it to stone. Of course, it's all

part of his clever plan to deter theft.

Prof, I like it....you never see a Bicycle parked outside a Psychiatrists Office...

Anyway, back to Sunday's ride, I'm just gonna ignore Profs' comments about my Bike because I know that deep down inside she would love to be riding an Orange one :-)

But of course, like I've reminded Her on several occasions, the Color of Her Bike does match Her personality-----Grey.

The funniest part about the whole ride was when I tried to douse Prof with the contents of my Water Bottle, unfortunately it went right over her head and got Vic, it was funny for Prof and myself but He took it well, sorry Vic.

Prof's right, She did offer Sunblock before the ride and we did shrug, the sun just made my Cyclists Tan worse...

Ride safe over the weekend Guys!! ;-)

It's the British accent - he sweet-talked his way to moderator level.

Pete get me out of my parents? house please!

Vic, for the amount of hours you work - you should be able to get out of your parents' house :) Start posting!

That's not true Cal, nobody understands what I'm saying... :grrr:

The only reason I can think of is because I'm FANTASTIC :cheese:

Peter, no one has commented - so I guess it's TRUE! I still think it's due to the accent. ;-P

Peter is fantastic! *don't throw water at me anymore please*

Actually, I hope it WAS water that he threw at me...

Anyways, safe riding at Sea Otter Prof, and I'll take some pictures from the Rosarito/Ensenada ride. :)

I lived in Irvine a few years back (sold in 3/06) and I'm back in town on business.

I'm not a big time cyclist like you guys, but I used to enjoy the trails. But, to my point, is there anywhere in or around Irvine I can rent a reasonable mountain-type bike - probably good enought for some of the moderate trails/paths?

If I can't find anywhere, I'll go down to the beach and rent a cruiser - but that's going to be really busy this weekend.

Thanks.

So, to answer my own question - The Path on 1st and B (Tustin) will rent you a (good) mountain bike for the day for $55.

However, I went to Big Bear instead and rented a bike from Bear Valley Bikes (www.bvbikes.com). Biking at that altitude is hard, but really worth it - it was awesome.

went biking around on sunday morning. first time really making use of the extensive trail system. previously i've just biked around the neighborhood going to the store or friends place.

started off by heading north to portola and the trail that goes through northpark (sorry, not really familiar with the trail names yet), then south on the mountain to sea, east when i got to the waterway b/w along barranca. cut through the woodbridge town center, went north along the lake, then north on yale back toward irvine blvd.

not too intensive, mellow ride in the morning. great to see so many active people out and about irvine!

acpme, there seems to be a ton of People on Bikes around Irvine lately, when I first started riding there were hardly any...

Some say Cycling is the "New Golfing"..I haven't a clue what they mean by that, I don't even know why I mentioned it :-S

yes, i was surprised at how many people there were on the trails. sort of like discovering an entire underground society of mole people underneath irvine.

its the new yuppie sport, i think that's what it means.

You definitely see a lot of people on the mountain to sea trail during weekend mornings (Sunday mornings are pretty busy). I also see more riders out on Laguna Canyon road in the afternoons.

acpme, did you see this one by any chance? You mean there's now a whole underground society of them riding around on Bikes? cool!

Thanks for the explanation on the new Golf thing...

Vic, the MUP's can be pretty hazardous, especially the Backbay...sometimes I feel safer on the streets :ahhh:

The early mornings and evenings seem to be the safest don't you think?
