It's not a bromance... it's an IHOmance.
Whatever an IHOmance is. I don't follow. I'll take it as a "yes".

LOL. Baker Ranch has very little in common with Chino. What makes you say that?
I'm an Orange County native. I've lived in N. OC, S. OC, including Yorba Linda, Tustin, Tustin Ranch, Irvine, Foothill Ranch, and the I.E. I don't really identify as a "booster" of B.R. (just yet?) as I haven't had the opportunity to see it yet. I am waiting for a weekend when the crowds die down. However, I can compare the areas, having the experience that I do have, and recognize some of the benefits of B.R. Also, in many ways, I am completely opposite of other posters here. Most of the things they see as drawbacks, I see as pluses, and vice versa. That is probably because my cultural values are a lot different. I don't think Baker Ranch is for somebody who wants to find the winner of a "Keynesian Beauty Contest"... I'll wait while everybody Googles that one... I'm interested in evaluating what truly is before us. That goes for everything, not just B.R. I may be part Dutch but I don't play Tulip Mania.

Chino Hills doesn't have a jail.
The City of Chino has a prison, though.
They are two very different areas & are two separate cities.
I don't think anybody here is confused about your feelings, IrvineCommuter as you've repeated it to us again and again. If you're unhappy and have nothing new to add, why participate in this thread? Let me explain: I've been trying to avoid you as best I can by not visiting the Irvine threads as much anymore. How about I help you and you help me in return? Sounds like a deal.

WAIT.
You're jealous Homie was hanging out with her instead of you?
OR
You wish YOU were riding on Bones' handlebars?!
This could go either way.
Why? It's true.homer_simpson said:he's jealous he cant fit on the handlebars!!
jk IHO, please don't beat me up!
SoCal said:I don't want to argue with you, IrvineCommuter. I have my reasons. I don't need to justify my feelings to you.
Sure, you can post anything you want, as can I. However, my goal is to reach a mutual agreement where we both voluntarily "keep our hands to ourselves", not just in this thread but in any thread, on any topic - more of a "think before you speak" type of approach between just us. For right now, I think that is the best route for keeping the peace. Fair enough.
Irvinecommuter said:That's the thing...outside of this discussion, I don't recall ever really discussing much with you. We may have our differences of opinion on things but people disagree all the time. I was asking more as a way to find out what, if any, I did to offend you but it is up to you whether you want to share.

OpenSky said:Chino Hills... Where this happened?http://articles.latimes.com/1985-02-19/news/mn-349_1_ryen-home[/quote]
Yeah, that was so terribly sad. What a tragedy. Yeah, I know about that & posted a similar link to the Kevin Cooper murders a while back, too.
OpenSky said:Apparently escaped convicts don't respect city limits...
You're right, apparently not. So, if this is being steered in the direction I think it's being steered... what would make any other surrounding area like Irvine insulted from the risks (since everybody like to compare to Irvine)? If that's not where you're headed, then what is the question exactly? I'm not sure I follow.
The word "convict" like Kevin Cooper is, typically describes a prison inmate with a felony conviction. One is a prison and one is a jail. Jail is where less serious, usually non-violent offenders with shorter sentences are housed and where inmates await trial & sentencing. But I agree there will be little difference soon as state prison inmates are xfered back to their local jails due to overcrowding. No argument there from me. As I said a while ago, I attended an orientation given by the sheriff at the jail HQ's last year where this was all discussed with me first-hand. Like I said earlier, I definitely have my concerns about BR being next to the jail. I also don't like the fact that our city council refuses to put up signs near the jail saying "Do not pick up hitch hikers". Yikes!
OpenSky said:anyhow, I thought you expressed concern about proximity to sirens and jails - I think you even posted a YouTube video with the obnoxious sound....
Close but no cigar. I said that was the prison test siren in the video. Musick Jail is a jail. Jails do not have test sirens to my knowledge. But maybe now they should!
