I really want to separate out FCBs and "most mainlanders"  Most mainlanders are just regular people struggling to make their way in a vast new and everchanging China.  Despite all the news, the per capita income for an average Chinese person is about $9,100...just below the Dominic Republic and above Jamaica.  There is a huge income disparity in China (2nd highest in the world according to some estimates)
http://management.fortune.cnn.com/2013/02/15/chinas-income-gap-solution-too-little-too-late/

Many of the wealthy in China are former CCP officials or individuals closely associated with CCP officials.  Many companies are actually state owned and get all of the benefits.  The government selectively helps certain companies and those individuals pocket a tremendous amount of money.

this is board about irvine housing, not about politics. posting some discriminating messages again mainland Chinese do not make any irvine residents or potential ones looks better.  i understand your frustration about rising housing price and interest rate simultaneously, the question is, can we blame FCBs for all of our problems? Think this way, many people bought in 2006 with higher price and higher rate still can not get out even, many sold their properties with a loss a few years ago. Market rules on its own, it is your decision to buy it now or wait.  Happy July 4th, Enjoy your freedom in this country with much thanksgivings!

To be fair the thread started about the new house opening and a snobby sales rep not annoyed at a child throwing up in their model home.  It just got hijacked into FCB hating.

I have none. Your countrymen is rude, loud and obnoxious. I suggest an Emily Post etiquette class. Please tell me I am just bitter because I can't afford to live in this dream city.

dang, test's personality is contagious. It is infecting people on this forum.

Not to get involved, but... what did I miss between you and test?

I've always liked Test. He/she has been a funny, nice, and smart member. Then something took a left turn recently. My guess is it had something to do with the thread about bowing out of the Irvine market because that's when it began. But I went back and read it several times. Didn't see anything there which would instigate Test's bad feelings.

I would tell you if I knew. I think that is a question you need to ask test. I understand being funny, but it is another thing being racist, narrow-minded, opinionated and belittling to others in this forum. I think he/she should be more respectful of others here.

Yeah, I agree he/she has been a bit extreme towards you (sorry, Test.) It's just not really like him or her. Very odd. I've even wondered if somebody has hacked Test's account - The California Court Company, for example. Now, that would make sense.

Test is transformed since her new job.

Is her new job as sales rep for an Irvine community instead of Tustin? That may explain the spam / full-sized glossy ads posted repetitiously. Also the treatment of quattroporte.

I dont think its only me. He/she is just sour towards everyone. For example:

You hear all the time that the cost of housing shouldn't exceed a certain %.  And with the run up in prices lately,  I often wonder how far families are stretching their budgets to buy here.  Of course,  Irvine is VERY special

What do you think is the average % of income people are now spending to buy in Irvine?  All cash doesn't count as well as people who purchased more than 10 years ago.

Of course, this is an entirely subjective question-  but I'm curious as to what everyone here thinks the % of housing costs (P&I, HOA and taxes) are against gross income."

"You are thinking like the poor white man.  If you think like the poor white man you will never become like the rich yellow man.  The reason there is so much affordable housing in Irvine is because the rich yellow man is squeezing the poor white man out and the poor white man petition the government to create more affordable housing so he can stay."

Believe me, I was close to pulling the trigger at Augusta... but the wife said no."

"I can tell you're regretting it.  Too bad you let your wife wear the pants in the house."

"The issue is not that it's just affordable housing, it's housing for the "seriously mentally ill"."

We have much better ones like that in China.
Here in US, I want to try different life style.

Why a single guy want mendocino?  You should be looking here: http://www.3000theplaza.com/"[/i]

"Oh you are from China. That makes sense. You want a yard. We Americans are sick of tract homes and cul de sacs, we want shanghai skyline living."

And then on top of that, he/she constantly contradicts him/herself. For example:

"Re: Mulberry in CV or Mendocino at SG
? Reply #5 on: June 04, 2013, 08:53:26 AM ?
QuoteThank You"

"Wait.  By the time Mendocino calls you, prices will be down 10%."

Has TIC ever dropped prices?? Or will they just give out a bunch of incentives?
They dropped prices ONCE....at Laguna Altura about 6 months after they started selling the homes.  Other than that, no other price drops but they threw in incentives."

"Laguna Altura started selling at the market bottom.  Cypress Village at the market top.  They're nuts, they know nothing.  This is a different kind of market.  And TIC is asleep."

I think test needs professional help and/or therapy.

Unfortunately for those who hate the FCB's (the mainland Chinese), or Asians in general, they will keep coming and soon will be the majority, if not already, in Irvine. Just throw in the white flag and forget all about buying in Irvine because you will NEVER be able to afford it. So go look to the Inland Empire, or better yet, Eastvale!  Now go away Irvinehomeshopper! :P
