Don't know if this is a IUSD wide thing but one of my wife's friend moved from Irvine to Tustin recently.  The school found out somehow and they were told to transfer to a Tustin school immediately.  They didn't allow them to even finish out the year.  It was one of the highly rated Irvine elementary school so maybe they were eager to open up space?

isn't that true? not well written, but true?  if you are a student already enrolled in irvine schools and your family moves, i thought that you can continue?  and the 'open enrollment' for sibs and others is *technically* open, even if no student is actually accepted for entrance in irvine schools

Another thing is once you move out of Irvine (not including the Tustin areas that are zoned to IUSD) then you stop paying that special tax for IUSD then you get dropped.

lol - i was at work and didnt get home till 10:30pm - didnt walk the pups. just had some grub and watched "so you think you can dance".  there is a guy who would pass as hispanic, he is swoll, big strong guy, very nice but he has to be on some juice. he has a little dog, not sure if that is who you saw.

That's funny. Columbus square is pretty small so you see all the same people over and over.
 
The guy lives in Santa Ana but his dog has higher aspiration.

this place has a for sale sign on it but dont see it on redfin.  last sold for $1,016,000 in January of 2007. has a very good size front and side yard. looks like it was listed last summer for two months at 850K and then delisted.  with the one on Severyns that just closed for $975K (3,000 sq ft) it will be interesting to see how much this one goes for. i think this has more sq footage so should list for over $1M

pending - list price as $975K, im guessing it closes around $940-950K.  Bought for $746K in March 2012.

This one had a bigger lot and closed for $975K.

funny how both listings reference irvine schools. the one that is pending now says " Neighborhood elem school (Heritage) has not opened yet. .. therefore you can "transfer" to a "10 rated" school in Irvine (Myford or Hicks Canyon). Broker is the owner."  i believe those are both TUSD.
