Ahh... so the larger capacity ones might not have enough space... I'll measure to make sure... or just get shorter laundry baskets... but then that would be counter productive... lower capacity baskets for higher capacity washer/dryer. :)

Samsung and LG are actually not as bad.

Consumer Reports issue for October 2013 rated the Maytag Maxima XL as top front loader.

Need input on this. White or cosmetallic washer and dryer? Right now the price I am quoted is the same for either even though white should get a discount. The laundry room has white cabinets, white quartz countertop, light beige concrete looking tile, and grey wall paint.

I'm in the market for appliances also. The granite should cost around 100 more than white. Same with LG and Samsung.

For your washer and dryer - go to lowes to see the difference.

Haha, you guys are great! My girlfriend and coworker both said white. I mislabeled the picture with granite. It is technically called cosmetallic. I initially was thinking of getting the cosmetallic because it will pop in my mostly white laundry room. I don't get a discount if I go white so what is the point? Although everything in the laundry room being white would give it a very clean and crisp look. I would think the cosmetallic might show dust more (like a black car).

Have you tried Howard's? I went there and pricing was pretty competitive. I had to do a rush purchase so I couldn't spend as much time as I would have liked.

I don't shop at Howard's - sorry.

For my purchase - I will go through ebates 2%, use the lowes credit card 10%, and purchase the samsung or LG appliance.

Why not?  Not meant to condemn...just curious.  We had a good experience with them.  Got everything really cheap and free delivery/set-up.

Thought about ebates but if you buy online do you have to pay for delivery and installation? That pretty much offsets any cash back.

It's still free delivery and installation. I've done it before, multiple times.

Update: it should be 5% off instead of 10% if you use your Lowes credit card.
