So is this house near BK? I'll buy it so I can build a 3-car wide garage in the front... hehe.</blockquote>

Sorry, The entire neighborhood will be protected under the Historic Landmarks US Department of Interiors. Frontal garages are outlawed and considered detrimental to the aesthetic integrity of the historic neighborhood. Only a small handful of virgin neighborhoods are left in OC and they are not immuned to the "Frontal Garage Rapists".</blockquote>

No garage for you! Next! Floral Park is a garage predator free neighborhood. Frontal Garage Rapists are only allowed in post WWII neighborhoods.</blockquote>

Is that you to left you IHO?

No... that guy is much thinner than I am.

He must be tenmagnet.

Sorry for the temporary derailment.

Mrs BK went to the estates sale and thought the inventory were ostentatious and distasteful. She did say the interior of the home still has a lot of the original character. The previous loser only ruined the outside. Exterior plaster will need some repair and paint. I don't think $300k is needed to rejuvenate this home to its former glory. Front yard could be simple such as grass, foundation shrubs, and a brick path. I believe the entire exterior curb appeal would not exceed 80k if managed frugally.

At high $800k this home would be a steal due to Mrs BK liking the interior beams and plaster walls.

I can envision this home when done properly could be the gem on Riverside. The buyer who purchased a Monterey House several houses down last year did an excellent job by adding curb appeal and received good praise during the House Tour last year.

Mrs BK volunteered to have our home on the House Tour this year.

More info: house was purchased in 2000 for 367K. One of the two partners who owned the home was seemingly a good guy, he broke up with his partner and moved out and somehow added his new partner to the title just before the foreclosure ("thanks a lot, I love you too"). The man who remained in the house went into a rapid downward spiral involving drugs and illegal activity. Title belongs to a First Financial CU in Virginia (?), again as graph found, a loan of approximately 1.07 mil. Electricity is off and apparently the stench is bad inside. I would have to beg to differ, BK. This house is going to need HUGE renovation. The kitchen will need to be gutted, the only thing salvageable in there is the floor (beautiful Spanish style). All appliances are gone and there is exposed wiring. I should be able to get in today or tomorrow to check it out a bit more. There also appears to be some serious electrical and plumbing issues according to my agent friend. However, there are definite reasons why BK and I would love to live there, as he said, it could be the gem of Riverside Dr.

Is this considered an area that has horse property? LA Times recently had an article about the disappearing horse properties around so. california.

No, it isn't. It is more of a suburban oasis. Like BK has said, not many people know about it. Unlike Orange Hills or Cowan Heights, it actually IS in Santa Ana.

I have not seen the inside and you may be right when you have to touch the inside. Mrs BK saw the house full of furnitures and now the home is vacant the aforementioned items would be very apparent.

<a href="http://www.floralpark.com">www.floralpark.com</a>

I have been known as a picky SOB critic of homes and a veteran of the housing industry. After weighing the negatives and positives of SA, FP offers me a better quality of life than the many years living in Irvine. Finally no garages and freakin 3 car wide driveways. An avocado tree canopy wider than the entire cluster of detached condos.

This should be fun, especially since your house has celebrity history!

Who was murdered there? ;)</blockquote>

Diane Hall.

She died in 1964 after 2 years at SA College and resurrected as Diane Keaton in Annie Hall, Looking For Mr. Good Bar, and God Father.

I spoke to her recently and hope she will write a preface to a future coffee table book project about Floral Park's historic legacy in OC.

I will see what I can do about taking a looksy inside, and give my IHO of what needs to be done and how much it will cost. As for the lender... I think I could compile enough info to scare the crap out of them for a fire sale price if anyone is serious.

For the right price, I could be serious. I went in yesterday. Best conservative guess is 300K in renovations, although I am far from an expert. My agent friend estimated about the same (or maybe a bit more) before I mentioned my own estimate. Everything is original, some good, some bad original. Water damage, termite damage, you name it. A gorgeous house with a great yard though. Agent friend said that there definitely isn't anything like it for sale now in all of the OC. PM me if you want to get in, my friend lives really close and can meet you there easily and he'll lay off playing the realtor.

You are serious! You might be in a bidding war with another demographrix.

I'm certainly not getting into any bidding war, I guess I like my current house too much. There is a slight chance that for the right "fire sale" price I could go the extra mile for this one. If there's an IHB'er who would be happy there, make the house look the way it should and become your new BFF in the hood BK, they can have it! :cheese:

Is this place next door to BK?s crib?

BK prefers to let people do Google searches trying to find Diane Keaton's childhood home address. If you find it, you know where he lives. Personally, I give up, so knowing he lives in Floral Park is enough for me, as far as next door, no I don't think so, just near.

I am much closer to you than you think!

Diane Keaton's Childhood address is not listed in Google. The closest is SA College where she attended and SA High. I have a Year book from her senior year 1964.

Ten, I currently can hear the train from 2 miles away. Please do not move to FP or Park Santiago because I do not want to hear your headboard.
