Presidential Elections

NEW -> Contingent Buyer Assistance Program
If China gets the 60% tariff, I will increase my prices by 50% because I know my competition has to increase it by 60%.
Why would I leave money on the table?

This will inflate everyones prices...but I'll be richer..

Are Trumpers so ignorant that they don't know that tariffs is basically a form of tax for American consumers? It's NOT China paying for it, it's American consumers paying for it.
Are Kackala Dems so ignorant that they don’t know that price controls create shortages and increase prices?… it’s not corporations paying for it, it’s American consumers paying for it.🤦🏽‍♂️😂😂😂

Actually... that's why I brought up the ebikes... at least 5 brands that I know of, have closed in the last 6 years. Juiced just announced their closure last week. As for businesses, where did Pedego Irvine go? If you read the retail thread... how many stores have gone under?

Just admit it... you are biased on this, almost as much as morekaos... it's okay... but don't pretend tariffs have no effect on cost of goods or our economy.

Inflation doesn't come from nowhere. There are tons of articles that explained how tariffs have affected the economy, are you just ignoring that?

Not ignoring an average 2% inflation rate of 2017-2020 during those terrible terrible Tariff days.

So there are fewer E-Bike manufacturers and vendors. ZZZzzz OH, sorry. I dozed off browsing AOL chats and Asking Jeeves about the weather on my Compaq PC. Competition and oversaturation shuts companies faster than Tariffs ever will.

The real question is how TF were you in business before the tariff when China was selling the same product as you were for 60% less

But generally yes, tariffs distort supply/demand and are inflationary. There may be other reasons to impose a tariff that may offset the market supply/demand/price distortions though.

???

He imported from China before. He doesn't do it now, but his competition still does. If there's a 60% tariffs on China, his competition is the one paying for it. As a result, his competition has to pass it to the consumer. And zubs can then increase his price by 50%, which is still 10% less than his competition.

And this is why no one should respond to you.

You keep asking for 3 things about Kamala but cannot admitted Trump's single action of not recognizing the results of 2020 election and causing an insurrection as way worse than anything Kamala has ever done.

Because you know as does morekaos there is no dancing around that.

Doesn’t matter…she’s doomed!🤷🏽‍♂️😂😂😂👍🏽🇺🇸

‘Now I like him’: Some Black voters in Georgia see Trump as a real option

ALBANY, Georgia — The pews were filling up inside Mount Zion Baptist Church, where former President Bill Clinton was set to launch his rural campaign swing for Vice President Kamala Harris in this Democratic stronghold bordering a sea of rural red Georgia.

In the back, Joseph Parker said he was thrilled the Arkansan was coming. But it had been nearly a quarter-century since Clinton left office and, Parker said, “Things were really different then.”

This year, he said he’s voting for former President Donald Trump, the first time the 72-year-old has cast a ballot for a Republican presidential candidate.
“Trump’s a man of his word. What he says he’s gonna do, he does,”
Parker said, after initial reluctance to reveal his preference. “And everything is so high now — groceries high, clothes, everything, gas. And four years ago, it wasn’t that high. And so people see the difference in Kamala Harris and Trump, and they want some of what they had four years ago. And I do, too.”

Harris Dominates Trump Social Media Team

Not sure if Trump’s team just gave up or what but you are seeing him dominated across major messaging platforms. Maybe because his town halls have been embarrassing bombs? At this point, his goal is just to show up. We’re not sure how much longer he can campaign and his fatigue levels are clearly escalating.

Also where is JD Vance? Did he get locked in a room somewhere? You can’t blame Trump’s campaign hiding the most unpopular VP candidate of all time.

By the way is anyone running the campaign? Who is in charge? Last time the leads got fired and replaced with some other guy and they were all infighting.

Harris once again gets the clip of the day. 😁:coffee:🐱🐶

"January 6th" is the "Russia, Russia, Russia" of today. Post election combative actions are nothing new. Go down the corridors of history and you'll find many examples of riotous behavior in The Capitol and at The White House from the very founding of the Republic.

Ask anyone on the Left if the 2000 Bush v Gore election was "stolen" or if Bush was "coronated" by SCOTUS. The facts are that Florida's votes did not go Al Gores way, but the Left still fights on 24 years later.

Speaking of "Russia, Russia, Russia", what HRC did in creating a completely false narrative about Russian collusion is in many ways worse than January 6th. Careers were ruined and opportunities lost during 45's Presidency. Just because Cankles didn't break the glass ceiling in no way gave her the right to burn the whole place down.

45 wanted to completely deny the results of the 2020 election - something which is nothing new. Sadly there was a wholey preventable riot had the requested National Guard troops been allowed into DC but some didn't want that to happen. We see the results of that decision clearly. Still, 45 left office peacefully and on time, without trashing the White House as the Clintonistas did in 2000. (Google is your friend here if the context is lost)

Even now, the Left ( Jamie Raskin, et al) is saying openly they will not certify the 2024 election results if 45 is elected to be 47. They are planning lawfare from November 7th on to deny The Coppertone Caligula victory (Marc Elias) yet no one seems to care about that sort of election denial, do they?

Was January 6th bad? Sure. Was it unusual? Not really, which is why when I hear "BUT...JANUARY 6TH" I fall asleep from the effects of an acute case of HCBS - Historical Context Boredom Syndrome.

Should be interesting🤦🏽‍♂️😂😂😂

Will Kamala commit to certifying a Trump win?

The country deserves a definitive answer before November 5
But the national media is also engaged in a severe case of collective amnesia. When Trump soundly defeated Hillary Clinton in 2016, several Democrats protested his electoral certification. Hollywood celebrities banded together to create ads and sad videos begging for faithless electors to nominate anyone but Donald Trump. The majority of the party, led by Hillary Clinton, then spent four years telling any media outlet that would listen that Trump was not a legitimate president — and in 2020 even advised Joe Biden not to concede under any circumstances, should Trump also win that election.

Now we find ourselves in a unique situation in 2024, as several close allies of Kamala Harris are signaling that should Trump capture the Electoral College, they will not certify his win this time around, citing everything from his criminal cases against him, to an invocation of the Fourteenth Amendment. Kamala Harris, as the sitting vice president of the United States, must answer if she will certify a Trump victory, despite the calls against doing so coming from those close to her campaign.

Back in 2018, I was buying product from China before the 25% steel tariff.
After the Trump Tariff, my customer took my 25% price increase for 2 years...before they cancelled orders and moved it all away.
Moving production is not easy and it took them 2 years to do it. Perhaps they thought Biden would have taken the 25% tariffs away...but he did not.

With the threat of 60% tariffs on China and a possibility that trump will win, companies are already looking for new sources outside China.
Same customer asked me if I would open a plant in USA. I said you wanna pay 3X the current price?

Today my competition is China, so ....60% tariff on China helps me, but will not help u.

Trump is Exhausted

I like Presidents who can actually show up and do the job. He’s like an old battery, leaking its contents, but there’s no other new batteries around. You just keep trying to turn on your flashlight, hoping to get one last charge out of it. But you know you are lying to yourself, and the batteries are done. Finished.

Trump spent 3 years and millions of dollars telling us Joe Biden was unfit for office. Now we can see it was all projection. The slurring words, inability to answer questions, the crazy ramblings about electrocuting sharks or Hannibal Lecter.

You had a chance to run Nikki, and indeed a large chunk of sane Republicans understood she was the better choice. Now he we are, with a criminal wannabe dictator—the most incompetent candidate in Presidential history.

Trump took the P part of GOP to heart: Projection.

I get what you're saying.

Personally I would rather purchase from an American with an American supply chain even if it means I pay more as a consumer, but there are far more consumers for a business to consider than me.

I'm exhausted from reading this thread and politics being in the spotlight for the last 8 years straight. Can we go back to not caring about politics with the exception of about 1 week every 4 years?
Funny I didn't see you complain when moretroll was posting shit about Biden in the past 4 years, but you're exhausted now when Kalapa posts facts about Trump DURING Election period.

Teemu selling 75 ft hose for $17...while Home Depot sells 50ft hose for $36.
Same quality....are you still gonna buy it from HD?
The HD hose also made in China...but atleast HD gets a cut.

I really should use 50ft hose from Teemu as comparison, but I recently bought the $17 one...and it's pretty good.
The HD one I put it on another faucet. I thought this example as relevant, since I did have another 50ft hose from HD 3 years ago. It started leaking after less than 2 years....so if a hose only works for 1-2 years....then I'll just keep buying the cheaper one as a commodity.

It's now $29.98....deflation!

You would pay double price?

Yawn. Go get busy with something other than trying to start arguments on internet forms.

I owned this hose until it broke. It kind of sucks. The twisting nozzle threads degraded and it became very difficult to adjust. There's also no way to spray with lower pressure aside from turning the spigot down, so when I wanted to water some loose soil or delicate plants it made a mess or knocked off flower petals. Eventually the hose tore and would spray water everywhere. I still like the concept of a long hose that shrinks for convenient storage. This one does everything the pocket hose does, but better.
