Wish List

NEW -> Contingent Buyer Assistance Program
[quote author="Trooper" date=1207527776]- I would like the ?Thanks? button back, that saved me from having to write a reply.

Honestly woman, how lazy can you get? :smirk:

- whispers back, ones that stay in the thread not a PM...that loses the spontaneity of it all.

But... the PM Button is RIGHT THERE! Sheesh! How much more spontaneity can you ask for? :blank:

* revised * Oh yes, any way we can "edit" our main blog comments. I hate that sinking feeling when I hit "send" and realize at the last second I've spelled something wrong.

* revised again * OK, how about adding a back button, or "Forum Home" button at the BOTTOM of the forum posts as well. That way when I get to the bottom of a post and read the last comment, I don't have to scroll all the way up to find the "Forum Home" button.

* revision #3 * On the main blog page, the "read comments" link should be at the bottom, you shouldn't have to scroll back up to the top to read them. Where's the link to the IHB gear ? Did that go away for good? That main blog page still looks so vanilla....sterile. Color please ! ;)

These last three are so good you should just post them in a new wish list. Seriously.

I wish there were no nested comments, it flowed so much better the old way when you read a post and scroll down to read more comments instead of seeing the original post and the other comments over again, it's a lot of work to mentally look for the new comments and disregard the old comments. Also having to always manually go to the new postings is a pain and more work. Sorry for the complaints.

Actually I would be very happy if there were just a main page that had all topics from all forums that with un-nested comments that if I click on the topic it would take me to the new comments from the last time I checked, just like the old IHB, just that would make me very happy. Would that be possible?

If you look at the bottom of the page when reading a thread, you will now see navigation links. zovall fixed it up so it's the same on every theme. Yay zovall!

Well, that solves just about every one of my wishes....except the "thanks" button.

I'm going to hold my breath until we get one back. :bug:

After a solid week of reading the Expression engine forums, 5 days of feeding zovall changes to the IHB2 theme that usually resulted in "the page you requested does not exist" errors, and reading code until the blood clotted on my eyelashes, I can say with certainty that the "Thanks" button isn't coming back. We may get some sort of reputation system in the future, but even that is iffy. We *might* get a single page of unread threads at some point, depending entirely on what feature requests Expression Engine adds to future releases.

Sorry, Troop, I tried.

Oh well, while we're on subject of what we want, would it be possible to add "mark all as read" to the page showing the list of unread topics?

Yeah, yeah, I know . . . and a pony.

I was thinking that as well. I was going to post that suggestion, but I didn't want to read all the suggestions to see if it was already posted. For some psychological reason, I don't like to have any green dots on my screen.

Choose the IHB theme :-)

Choose the IHB theme.

Thanks, Nude. I went to the IHB theme to mark all as read. But then I went back to my favorite blue theme. It think the blue background is easier on the eyes. :coolsmirk:

I felt the same way, initially. But the grey text in some places was causing me to squint. I tried to resolve that a bit in IHB2, but I found the IHB easiest to read after a few hours at the computer.

Edited to add: It looks like it can be done, and I'm sure zovall will attend to it when he gets time.

I'll give the other theme a chance for a few hours and see if I can convert to the IHB theme.

When we link to a website within a post, is there a way to have it link to another tab so we don't have to leave IHB? Sorry if this has already been addressed, I haven't read through all the Wish List items.
